There's plenty of good things I can say about Jaybo. He plays with a lot of heart. However, he fumbled a ton today and failed to make reads. Am I the only one, or does he keep the ball too much and always act hurt at the end of the play? He also missed passing reads, including a wide open receiver downfield in the 4th quarter that would've been a td had he seen him.

I've always thought Jaybo was a great backup and I was thrilled to have him, but I think Washington played better today (although it was against the 2nd string defense). I hope everybody thinks I'm crazy. That'll make me feel a lot better.

The only thing I really felt decent about today was Marcus Wright. He will start in Sept. Way too much energy to sit on the bench.

No way Washington played better then Jaybo. It wasn't even close.

Jaybo took some good knocks today and he's a pretty thin guy. He needs to gain another 20 pounds.

You only felt good about Marcus Wright? Did you not see Anthony Allen at all?

I'm not worried about the QB's. I'm worried about the OLine sucking ass for the second straight year. I hope some of these freshman can come in immediately and play.

Anthony Allen was great too, he played a lot of B-back from what I have seen.

In regard to Jaybo/Tevin, I'll go with whatever CPJ decides! There is still a lot of time for that decision though, a lot of practice to have.

+1

Just keep in mind we've still got a lot of talent that's currently injured.

He is awfully small looking compared to some other players. I thought he had bulked some, what happened?

I remember a UGA fan started laughing pretty hard when Nesbitt when out of the UGA game for a brief moment, and had Shaw replace him. He commented on how he "looks like he's about to get smushed."

You mean the OL that played today or the one that's injured and was out for the spring?

You're nutty. It was damn close, at the minimum, and depending on how shallow our first and second team Ds are, Washington played better.

All of them. Stop getting your panties in a wad Nc. Its becoming common practice for you to get your feelings hurt when I say something not so flattering about our team.

If Nesbitt had not gotten injured, I think Jaybo would have lit the second team up. The drop-off from first to second team D is a bigger gap than first to second team O.
Tevin has a higher upside, but from what I've seen in practice and what I've read from Bohannon, the game hasn't slowed down for Tevin yet. When it does, watch out because he is a special athlete runnning the ball.

He had horrible reads, fumbles, and lucky jump duck balls caught on a horrific pass D.

The Jaybo vs. Wahington threads are the stupidest ever. They were playing completely different defenses.

Its like all those people who said that Jaybo should be starting last year, cause he looked better against Duke's defense than Nesbitt looked against BC's and VPI's NFL caliber defenses.

Yeah, I mean I'm excited about having a kid like Tevin as the third QB, but some of the mistakes he made were not mistakes that you can make and run this offense right.

He is BAD at the sweep pitch. Like, terrible bad.

Most of his passes have a Reggie-feel to them. He throws from his back foot and does the classic "collapse while throwing" if he's about to get hit.

Now again, he may well be the best 3rd string QB in the ACC, but he's not better than Jaybo.

Common practice? Just when did it happen last? Besides I was asking you a question. If you're concerned about a bunch of backups in a patchwork OL I get it...but you'll never see that group actually play in a game.

Besides, when did you get so sensitive?

His reads weren't any worse than Jaybo's, Jaybo had more fumbles, and even if you wipe out that 30 yard duck he still exceeds Jaybo's passing production.

I get that he was going against 2nd team D, but from my seats it didn't look like we played the first string D a whole lot vs Jaybo, particularly a lot of our secondary. There were scrubs on both squads that got plenty playing time - hell they guy who caught that jump ball was a walk-on. Bebe would have caught it vs our first team D.

My point is, your statement's dumb. Shaw was not clearly ahead of Washington. They were close. Especially when you factor in unforced turnovers.

Worry about the O-line--the B-field is in good hands (several in fact)--but--I do worry about the LINE.

Give the backup QB's a break. Your talking about a soon-to-be true sophomore vs. a soon-to-be redshirt freshman running a complicated offense. Sometimes they will make bad decisions, but that is how they learn. I doubt Shaw would have been a backup as a freshman if we had a well-established option offense in place. Nobody knows who will play in 2 years, but both of these guys deserve some support while they work for playing time. It's way to early to have final opinions on them.

Lay of the the QB's. What are they 18 year olds? Wait until their junior year and then you can be more critical. I look for both to get better and better. How would you like it if one was your son just out of high school?
