Sooo..there's an article by the biggest UGAy homer on the AJC (they all are, but he's the biggest) where he implies that UGAy at some point in time was 'Tailback U'.....am I being completely homeristic thinking that Knowshon is the ONLY good RB they've had since Herschel? I've listed as many of the RB's I can remember for the past ten years or so for both teams.

Do you guys think that UGAy has been 'tailback u'? Personally I think just about every one of our guys was better than theirs.

USCw was of course the original "tailback U," but later on UNC surpassed them, without a lot of national recognition (naturally.)
 
The 'Tailback U' tag goes back beyond 10 years for UGA. From the early 80's to the mid 90's guys like Tim Worley, Keith Henderson, Rodney Hampton, Garrison Hearst, Terrell Davis, Robert Edwards were all good running backs @ UGA. This crop was better than what UGA has put on the field over the last decade.
 
Damn, I hate defending UGag, but you have to include Terrell Davis, Rodney Hampton, Lars Tate, Garrison Hearst, Robert Edwards, Tim Worley, and Verron Haynes.

That being said, I have never heard UGAg called Tailback U. But they have had legit NFL players at RB.

In recent history Miami would probably be considered tailback U. Gore, Portis, Mcgahee, Edge

Actually I should take Bell off our list, I was only gonna go back about 10 years or so. The guys you all are listing for UGAg were WELL over a decade ago. They have not had a good running back since TD in 95 besides NoShawn.

See above quote. I was limiting to just the past 10 or so years, ie very recent history.
 
Lars Tate should be discounted since it was the Buccaneers that drafted him.
 
If they didn't play in the NFL, then I don't think they count to those without gol-colored glasses.

I can recall more UGA RBs more recently than us. I am hard pressed to name five GT RBs who made an impact in the NFL and that's going way back.

And what RB's from UGA made an impact in the NFL recently?

We know about TD and Hearst, and Walker of course, but outside of those three, no one has done anything for UGA in the past 15 years.

Knowshon? I don't think he's shown much in the NFL yet.
