TAMU getting heat for not interviewing a token black man

We recruit players whose mothers work 2-3 jobs at minimum wage and who never receive a decent education from the government.

You had me until this ridiculous drivel. Everyone in this country can get an education. Often we recruit players whose mothers chose to have children far too young and thus gave up their opportunity to persue an education unimpeded.

As for the coach, I am all for a black coach. Atlanta is the black capital of the universe, qualified athletes are mostly black, if my coach can better identify with recruits and players then thats a plus. The issue in the eyes of many administrations is that being a BCS conference coach isn't about recruiting and X's and O's exclsuively -- it's about sucking off boosters and being an administrator. So who relates better to a room full of wealthy Ole Miss alumni - Houston Nutt or Charlie Strong ? Obviously the white hillbilly. Is either one more qualified as a coach, probably Nutt in terms of experience. Can Strong relate better to 90% of the potential recruits, yes.

Another thing to remember is that life ain't fair, and nobody cares about your problems.

What black coach wanted the TAMU job? And do you really think a black coach at TAMU is really going to be able to relate to the players, alumni, and boosters more than a white man in texas? I'm not saying that a black man can't do just as good a job, but what black coach or potential coach even wanted that job?

I'm tired of this Black HC crap. Blacks make up about what 10% of the total population yet, if you listen to these ****ing liberal PC douchebags, they should make up 50% of the NCAA's head coaches.

I don't care if a coach is black, white, green, yellow, blue, ArchiTECH, or whatever, if he can coach and kick ass, then hire him. Race should play ZERO factor in a decision. Anyone who thinks race should play a factor is by definition: racist.

That's not really the issue. The BCA only requests that schools try an interview a minority candidate. They don't place pressure on hirings, they just like to see black coaches get an opportunity to interview.

The BCA is pure racist otherwise they would be demanding interviews for Native Americans, Asians, Hispanics, Women, and any other defined minority.

Actually, they do.

BCA Mission:
  • To address significant issues pertaining to the participation and employment of ethnic minorities in sport in general and intercollegiate athletics in particular.
  • To assist ethnic minorities aspiring to have a career in athletics through educational and professional development programming and scholarships.

Let's be honest folks. Black coordinators' phones don't ring. And there is no good explanation for it.

Clapper if what you say is true then why do they call themselves the Black Coaches and Administrators? Why not the Minority coaches and Administrators? Would they support an organization known as White Coaches and Administrators? I am the most unbiased and least racist person on the planet but I get sick of the race card being played every day in every aspect of our lives. They should teach the people the claim to represent how to earn what they receive. If a black coach wants to be hire by A&M or GT or anyone else he/she should be on the phone to the AD the same as many other coaches are doing. It should not be left up to someone they have never met to run and cry to the liberal media.

The solution is pretty simple. Right now there is no punishment for ignoring the BCA. Here is what you do if a school doesn’t interview a new coach. One year after the new coach has been on the job, you will make sure that Jesse Jackson personally visits any black athlete they recruit and asks them go pick another school. That threat alone would have made TAM and Ole Miss at least interview a minority.

Would it sway every athlete? No, would it sway enough to wreck a SEC or Big 12 recruiting class? Absolutely.

What black coach wanted the TAMU job?

I wouldnt be suprised if Charlie Strong (UF def. coor. - graduate assistant at TAMU in 1985) or Kevin Sumlin (Oklahoma off. coor. - off. coor. of TAMU in 2001-2002) wanted the job.

"Jesse Jackson personally visits any black athlete they recruit and asks them go pick another school. "

That would be the most work he has done in his whole life. And who would help him find them? Sharpton or Gore?

The National Rifle Association "is committed to preserving the right of all law-abiding individuals to purchase, possess and use firearms for legitimate purposes as guaranteed by the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution."

Why don't they call themselves the National Firearms Association?

Al Gore invented Rivals and Scout to help.

My point is that the BCA could do a lot more than they do. I think if they did what I have suggest just once, you would see minorities being interviewed. In fact, I think they should experiment on UGA and see if it affects their recruiting for the next 5 years.
