What's Hot/Not by Mark Schlabach:

Hot - Triple option: Coach Paul Johnson's triple-option spread offense worked miracles at Georgia Tech last season. The Yellow Jackets finished 9-4 and beat rival Georgia for the first time in eight seasons. Georgia Tech was fourth in the country in rushing, averaging nearly 275 yards per game. With tailback Jonathan Dwyer coming back, Tech could be even better in 2009.

Hot - Week 6: College football fans need to circle Oct. 10 on their calendars. Two SEC games that Saturday might go a long way in determining the conference champion and which teams remain in the BCS national title hunt. Alabama plays at Ole Miss. Florida plays at LSU. Elsewhere, Georgia Tech travels to FSU in a key ACC game, and Michigan plays at Iowa in a Big Ten contest.
Next to the blurb are the logos of Tech and FSU

Yes, Schlabach (pronounced Slay-bah) went to Georgia. Yes, he covered the Mutts for the lyin Atlanta paper.
But it's apparent he has a lot of respect for PJ and what he's done at Tech and elsewhere. He knows what he's doing and he's been objective in his analyses of Tech.

Of the three main ESPN writers I like him the best (mostly because he hasn't yet done some complete dumb**** move like the other two have). However, am still annoyed that he did his preseason top 25, said Nesbitt missed most of the spring with a wrist injury and never corrected it. That's just me being picky though.

He wrote the ESPN article about the spread offense, that while looked like it was lifted entirely from smart football, was actually intelligent, and didn't once call the spread a gimmick or dark evil magic or high school offense.

Still, he's a mutt, and he works for ESPN, so **** him.

Harsh sir, though I can understand the sentiments.

Florida is hot! 10-loss teams are not! What great insight.

To all of you who dis Ms. Dinich at the drop of a penalty flag, where are your snide remarks?
