Tech vs CO already getting attention

You mean we need to have a standing game with a major team, like say, UGAg? We've been ahead of this for years. We always play a tough schedule, historically with UGAg and Clemson every year, with Miami, ND, FSU, etc., sprinkled in. It's about time teams like Clemson had to do this and start scheduling tougher opponents more often. It's not about drawing in fans. It's about TV viewership. That's where all the new money is coming from.
In fairness to Clemson, they play the dwags every so often and, of course, USCe who are occasionally reasonably tough.

We didn't play Clemson last year, and with the new way the ACC does things and them not being our primary conference opponent, we probably will not play them as much as we do play them. I would LOVE to see a home-and-home with Auburn and Tennessee, past just the 2 years we have coming up with Tennessee. Those games will draw fans and viewers.

I get it. But doing that will make our road even harder. We gotta win games to keep winning the recruiting battles. At the end of the day, pre-season polls and talking heads only care about win/loss record. No one ranks a team because they lost 8 close games to ranked teams. If so, we’d be a perennially ranked team.

Why are we all excited for this coming season? Because we have a manageable schedule for the first time in years with only Clemson and UGA as high percentage losses. SMU parlayed their easy schedule into being ranked and getting to a conference championship game and the playoffs which has paid off in recruiting and the portal. No one cares who they played. All they see are the W’s.

There is some truth to this but there is also excitement because we know we can play with and/or beat anybody on our schedule, and talking heads see that too. If we had a cupcake schedule but there was only a snowballs chance in hell we beat the top 2-3 teams on our schedule, it would be different.

I disagree. We have very close to the same team as last year and we went 7-6. I get part of being a fan is to be optimistic but to believe we are some juggernaut all of a sudden is not reality. We just got boat raced by Vandy and last I remember King, Jamaal, Malik, and most returning defenders all played. We could go 11-1 but we could also as easily go 6-6. I think we’ll go 8-4 but I have no clue which 8 we will win or which 4 we will lose because we are the definition of inconsistency. I could see us beating Clemson and UGA and losing to Syracuse and NC State. Yes, my fandom side hopes King is a top 5 QB and our offense produces 33plus points per game. However, we were 69th with 26.4 points per game last year with essentially the same players. I’m excited for this season because I’m excited for every season because hope is the most powerful drug of all. Key has built us some depth and gotten us some players so now it’s time to put it together. But, Syracuse, VT, and Vandy keep reminding me that other teams are building too.

35-27 is boatraced?

I expect that we will have a meaningful upgrade at quarterback this year.

I was thinking the same thing... we got boatraced by the refs maybe. Check stats for that game too... score should have been lopsided the other way if anything.
It was 35-13 with less than 10 minutes to go.
We got two TD drives late to make the score appear close. Those two drives when it was out of hand accounted for 40% of our offensive yardage output. They gave up 11 yards taking knees on their final possession and they also had a touchdown drive of 11 yards.
It was a repeat of Syracuse. Final score looked close, but the game really wasn't. It was cosmetic.

Bullshit. I was at the game. We didn't get boatraced by any means. We got shafted by the refs and they got bailed out a couple times. That's what made the score lopsided to begin with.
