He sold out to the Yankees. I won't root for him anymore. Congrats for selling out and making a lifelong pot of gold though.

"Sold out"? Can you explain to me why he wouldn't want to be paid $20+ million a year while also having a great chance to win a title? Would you like it more if he took less money to go toil away in obscurity in Washington, with no real chance at winning? That would be called stupidity.

I could see taking issue with going somewhere for the money, but I don't see how you can think what he did is a bad thing when the Yankees are stacked and offer him the best chance to win a ring. You play the game to win championships, not to go to basement teams just so you won't be part of the "evil empire."

i will explain it to you. Midatlantech is in Baltimore, he is probably sick and tired of the BoSox and Yankees blowing huge wads of cash while the Orioles are still glad they even had Cal Ripken.

Midatlantech seems to be bitter. He talks bad about one of my fav players, hines ward, b/c he plays for the Steeler (and not the Ravens) and b/c ward broke a Raven's jaw on a wicked fierce hit b/c the guy was daydreaming watching his teammate hold the ball and forgot that he was on the field himself for a few seconds

anyway, if its an enemy of a Baltimore team, midatlantech will be an enemy too.

Case solved.

Yea, I hate Hines Ward because he was a Dawg, and therefore, a son of a bitch. **** him.

By the way, which position did Mark Teixeria play on the flats...
 
Wow --the Yankees are paying two starting pitchers and a their first baseman $62.5M next season. I hate them.
 
Baseball won't be a real sport until they implement a salary cap. Right now, its just a matter of buying a championship. The whole sport is being ****ed by the greedy ass players union and a handful of teams with a lot of money. Wake me up when its an even playing field.

the steelers are my team. hines has been wearing white and gold longer than he ever wore red and black. screw you guys, hes a great guy to have on your football team. and he is a good citizen.

As evidenced by the 13th and 29th highest salaried teams playing in the WS while the 1st, 2nd, 3rd teams all missed the playoffs.

Well this was certainly a fluke of a year.

Tex grew up an Oriole fan and he supposedly was still attached to the Orioles. I grew up a Tech fan. I would never ever go play for or coach at Uga. Never. Ever. Sorry, he's a mercenary. No Oriole fan would ever ever support the Yankees.

We have a coach at Tech who is a Dawg. Acts like a Dawg. Still a Dawg. Always going to be a Dawg. Tex was no O's fan.

Regarding Hines Ward: I have nothing good to say about her. And she doesn't wear White and Gold; she wears yellow and black.

they have a soft cap by making teams pay the luxury tax. so if you overspend and dont produce, everyone else still gets your money and you get double-hosed.

i contend that the reason some of the smaller teams can compete better is b/c of the luxury tax money that they get

you can "buy" the players, but not really the championship.

If someone was to do that that person would be a fool. Heisman was forced out of Atlanta by his ex wife as a part of their divorce contract.

So again, you would prefer that he makes less money and has no chance of winning? Maybe Tech taught him a bit of finance and logic. He never played for or had any connection to the Baltimore organization; at some point, you have to abandon supposed fan loyalties from high school(he has already played for three other teams...) and do what is best for your career and your life.

You're right, he's no Oriole fan. He's an MLB player(never for Baltimore though), and if every player who grew up supporting one team before he joined the league and ended up playing for another is wrong, then we might as well just end the sport now. Did Baltimore even make him a realistic, close to market value offer? It probably didn't matter, because in the end money wasn't the only factor. He wanted to win, and that's what the Yankees are going to do for him. Maybe you're just bitter because of that.

No I get it. I am a Redskins fan, always have been. When the Redskins traded away Champ Bailey for Clinton Portis I was pissed. Bailey is a shut down cornerback and that is a rarity in the NFL. Portis is a good to great back, but productive Runningbacks are a dime a dozen in the NFL. But I thought Champ Bailey was a great player and as a Redskins fan, I was happy to have him on my team. That said, when discussing the merits of Champ Bailey when he was a Redskin, he was a great player. I don't care how good of a person he may be, he's a mutt, and the extent of my compliments to him begin and end at his production on the field.
