No I get it. I am a Redskins fan, always have been. When the Redskins traded away Champ Bailey for Clinton Portis I was pissed. Bailey is a shut down cornerback and that is a rarity in the NFL. Portis is a good to great back, but productive Runningbacks are a dime a dozen in the NFL. But I thought Champ Bailey was a great player and as a Redskins fan, I was happy to have him on my team. That said, when discussing the merits of Champ Bailey when he was a Redskin, he was a great player. I don't care how good of a person he may be, he's a mutt, and the extent of my compliments to him begin and end at his production on the field.
Tex is a Techie. What does this have to do with football anyways?

got you, but i like some of the things that Hines has done around the Burgh as a PERSON and i think i posted the info once that he actually set up a $1Million fund to help black/Korean kids in Korea deal with the racism they face, so i think that is pretty cool.
you gotta love a guy that when he gets hammered coming across the middle he gets up with a smile on his face.
ok, enough of this discussion - -have a great tree holiday, BoR

Two of the most formative events of Teixeira's life occurred in Baltimore. When he was a freshman in high school, on the way home from soccer practice one day, his father told him that his mother had been diagnosed with breast cancer. And when he was a junior, preparing to play an American Legion baseball game, one of Mark's best friends was killed in a car accident. Nick Liberatore was sitting in the backseat of a car parked on the side of Interstate 95 when a trucker fell asleep at the wheel and plowed into him. Every Wednesday night for the next year Teixeira and his friends went to the Liberatores' house for dinner. After Teixeira signed his first professional contract, with the Rangers in 2001, he asked Mount St. Joseph principal Barry Fitzpatrick how much it would cost to endow a scholarship in Liberatore's name. Fitzpatrick told him he would have to start with $75,000. "Mark took out his checkbook and wrote the check right there," Fitzpatrick says.
Tex is a really good guy. Pretty much everything the baseball team has in the lockerroom/gameroom is donated from Tex. Big screens, xbox 360's, leather couches, etc.
Its pretty nice stuff.
c'mon man, EVERYTHING has to do with football
and i think Teixeira held a football once. also 3rd base kind of sounds like 3rd down.
Congrat"s to TEX but I still hate anything YANKEE--especially BIG 10 football!!
Your buddy Ray Lewis has many charities; they all do (their agents take care of everything).
Regarding the earlier post, the O's offered a similar amount but for one less year. A player like him could have made a fortune in the local community; he probably can do the same being in a big town market.
The O's have lots of young talent, only lacking pitching now. He could have built a long term winner in Baltimore. But I wish him well and hopes he hits 90 homeruns while the Yankees lose every game. Hey that wish worked with Tashard Choice too last week.
