Tennessee -6

Biases aside, I usually take underdogs in season openers. Too many variables to accurately predict these early matchups (even moreso than usual). We are both replacing QBs, return a lot of starters, and had similar seasons in 2017 although we'd get the nod if you really analyze the schedules/outcomes. The only reason to have them as favorites is name recognition from their teams 10/20 years ago. This game is a pick-em in my book. Fortunately they got shredded by spread offenses in 2016 so if Matthews (or whoever starts) can hit open receivers we should put up points.

Why would we chop block our own receivers? I know we're trying to get in everyone's head, but that might be over the line..

I just realized that this game will be played in the new stadium downtown (Mercedes Benz Stadium).

Cool. I guess that makes it a neutral field.

I'm curious to find out how seats will be assigned to season ticket holders. Will they try to give fans a place in the stadium similar to their seat at BDS, or will they put us all in the end zone and upper rafters?

Could be wrong, but I think sales and seating for this game will be similar to what is done for a bowl game.

I will be a rafter dweller, if GT even lets me in. :(

I ain't rich like all you fellers.

They're 100% not going to give you a place similar to your seat at BDS. That doesn't even make sense and sounds like a logistical nightmare.

I think the seat license holders get first dibs. Then those not sold to them or without licenses will be split up between the schools. Then your AT points will determine your location. So yeah, you could end up in the corner nose bleeds.

You are probably correct, but I think they are including tickets to the opener as part of the season ticket package. This would be a different situation from offering them as a separate purchase. Since season ticket holders won't have the option of buying their tickets on StubHub, they will have a lot of unhappy fans if they get forced to buy tickets a lot worse than what they get at home.

If you buy tickets without a Tech Fund, the locations for season tickets will be in the upper deck of the new stadium in the end zones. If you want a sideline view of the game (between the goal lines) or want to have a closer look, you will have to sell your season ticket and buy a different one.

Also, unless they have jacked the price of the games ($50 average + Tech Fund) the game at the Dome has added $45 to the season ticket package. Last year the base price for renewals (no Tech Fund) was $325.00, this year it is $370.

For non-Tech Funders, you will be paying more for your seat to the UT game and getting a shittier location (no offense to those who like the end-zone view). If you are an Upper North dweller, you will just be paying more. Either way you will be sitting much further away from the field than you are used to.

Pay the upgrade Tech Fund and you will get better seats.

If you live the 80k life and go all out with a suite, you don't get a ticket to the UT game, but you have "access" to buy the club seats separately.

In short you are going to have a shitty seat unless you have a suite or club seat. Most of lower west will get endzone seats. Seating location at BDS takes precedence over AT Fund points. I love how GTAA rewards loyalty.
