Tennessee -6

If you buy tickets without a Tech Fund, the locations for season tickets will be in the upper deck of the new stadium in the end zones. If you want a sideline view of the game (between the goal lines) or want to have a closer look, you will have to sell your season ticket and buy a different one.

Also, unless they have jacked the price of the games ($50 average + Tech Fund) the game at the Dome has added $45 to the season ticket package. Last year the base price for renewals (no Tech Fund) was $325.00, this year it is $370.

For non-Tech Funders, you will be paying more for your seat to the UT game and getting a öööötier location (no offense to those who like the end-zone view). If you are an Upper North dweller, you will just be paying more. Either way you will be sitting much further away from the field than you are used to.

Pay the upgrade Tech Fund and you will get better seats.

If you live the 80k life and go all out with a suite, you don't get a ticket to the UT game, but you have "access" to buy the club seats separately.
How much is the upgraded Tech Fund?

I'm probably not going to get season tickets this year solely because I don't want GT to assign me seats for the UT game

I'm curious to find out how seats will be assigned to season ticket holders. Will they try to give fans a place in the stadium similar to their seat at BDS, or will they put us all in the end zone and upper rafters?

No, they are going to give you a free ounce of crack and coupon for 20 wings (ranch and blue cheese).

After 20 years of buying season tickets in AT Fund seats, I still got Mezzanine End Zone for the UT game. I blame CPH for making me drop my BB tickets several years ago.

FYI the lower club seats at Mercedes are on the sideline 10 yard line to 10 yard line. So "lower sideline" for current Tech CL sections might be 10 yard to back of end zone.

I don't think any of the seats in the new stadium will be as poor as the bad seats at the current Dome. I hate the upper deck at the Dome. Upper deck at Mercedes looks OK.

Stupidest area in the new place appears to be the field level club area behind the bench where you get to stare at the backs of the players and watch the game on TV.

That's not a seating area. It's just an extension of the Club. Folks with access to those Clubs have seats above it.

And it is still dumb. I would rather have club level seats where I could walk out with a beer and see the game.

And I don't like our club section in the east, either, fwiw, the few times I have been seated there, in someone else's seats. Of course, our stadium has limitations due to age and budget on what we could do.

Please, tell us more about your random likes and dislikes and stadium design.. we all really care!

Isnt that what most of us do on the board, give opinions? Didn't realize this was something other than a message board. I will deal in facts only for this post and stay on topic....ready.....go

Tennessee is playing us in Mercedes Benz Stadium. They are favored in Vegas. I have no opinion on the game or where it is being played. Tennessee normally plays in Knoxville. This game is in Atlanta. I am a GT season ticket holder. I have 4 seats. My season ticket package comes with tickets to this game. I have no opinion if that is a good thing or a bad thing, it is just a thing.

Czar is a prick, bit that is also a fact, not an opinion.

Nope.

New Club and Upper deck are 1 floor higher than in old Dome relative to the field. With respect to sight-lines -the higher the seats are vertically, the further they are also horizontally from the field. The more box/club levels you add to this geometry the more you push the cheap seats away from the field.
