flea-flick·er /ˈfliˌflɪk

ər/
Pronunciation[flee-flik-er]
–noun Football.
a deceptive offensive play in which the ball is passed or transferred laterally before or after a forward pass.

That definition would mean a hook-and-ladder play is a type of flea flicker, as is a halfback pass, as is an option pass. I don't mind admitting being wrong, but I've never heard flea flicker as a catchall for every trick play in football. I could see maybe calling it a catchall for any play in which the QB hands the ball off and gets it back later, to throw.

So your opinion carries more weight than the Random House unabridged dictionary?

I admit I've never heard a hook and ladder called a flea flicker, but I have heard it used to describe halfback passes many, many times.

Just asking but isn't it a "hook and lateral?"

Nice to see you back on the board TG. Heard that Pepperdine was evacuated a couple days ago, so I didn't know how it affected you.
