was a completely DOMINANT Performance. Whether it be on Defense or Offense we completely dominated that game yesterday.

It was exciting to watch and be at (even with 4 lbs of Water absorbed in my Clothes and shoes)

We came out with Piss and Vinegar in our veins and it showed in all aspects of the game!!

***Was Dwyer Hurt of Sick? He looked a little slow in the beginning or for the most part and just a little out of sorts. I know he got ear holed on the the 20 ydr down our sideline and his shoulder was bothering him. TO his credit, he didn't let it deter him and managed to give a helluva performance. I'm Just Curious as it really appeared that he was just moving slower all around with the exception of a handful of moments.

We may have only HIT YATES IN THE MOUTH a couple of times, but we had him running for his life and in a panic 99% of the game. He was on the run for probably 90% of his passes and rarely had time to sit back and throw. Those plays that he did were the only ones where he had open receivers and were able to get good yardage.

I have ZERO COMPLAINTS. Our coaches were emotional and put that life into the players and the team looked like a new team and full of piss and vinegar.
Scratch that, I have 1 complaint. WTF, is up with Blair. I was glad to an extent to see him hit the pine and get benched (I just hope it doesn't have a VERY LONG negative effect on his mind and performances going forward). I rarely dog on players, but this kid needs to get it together...IF HE CAN IN FACT DO THAT....he's 60% this year and his overall career and that is pathetic for a D1 and Top Tier Conference Kicker. These stats couldn't get him a start in DIII....and it's ridiculous. I'm just in shock...not how bad he's doing or has been for the past 2 years....But in shock at how in the hell he made those kicks against Clemson

It may be time for CPJ to pull a Coach Ed Gennero (Necessary Roughness, 1991) and have an open tryout if he hasn't already...I don't care if he calls Kathy Ireland.

Other than that, I'm ready to go FULL STEAM AHEAD again and keep pounding. There's nothing other than Kicking that can be said negatively about yesterdays performance

Yes, on paper we dominated that game. BUT - I don't think it was very exciting being only up 10-0 going into the 4th quarter. All it takes is one mistake on defense and the other team is back in it. I want to see us finish drives with points on the board before I call a performance dominant. To me, dominant is knowing you're going to win by halftime.

On the 1st and Goal from the 3 yard line, when we did the toss sweep to JD, he should have just followed Cox's block and may have punched it in - but in a rare instance of having bad vision he tried to go around and lost yardage.

I completely agree, I was very worried for most of the game. I was disappointed in not making TD's on many of the opportunities when we were on their side of the field.

One of the best things from this game in my opinion, is the addition of the draw play. Seriously, why didn't we ever do this before? It makes sense on so many levels with our offense. We rarely pass so teams pretty much assume we're passing when Nesbitt drops back, then he slips it to Dwyer or whoever and voila, 1st down on 3rd and 6.

Dominating isn't always reflected by the score. You've got to give credit to their D as well. You know, they give out scholarships too. I think we knew we were going to win....I for one thought so

The 1st and Goal Toss Sweep was dumb as **** call to begin with. Why run a f'n toss sweep to the guy who just sprinted 50 yds down the field the play prior. No matter the block to follow. They should've ran a dive or FB Blast

I agree, UNC has a pretty darn good defense and that certainly contributed to those redzone trips without touchdowns. However, the field goals have to be made.

Seemed to work for Roddy.

I agree maybe they should have hit AA or Jones on the toss sweep, but still that's one of our best calls for goal line runs (outside of the 3 or so anyway).

What you mean is is THAT toss sweep was dumb as ****, right? The ones that work are brilliant.:pat:

+1

Toss sweeps have been pivotal for us over and over again...but no play call is going to work 100% of the time.

I noticed that PJ tried the B-Back draw with dwyer at least once before dwyer broke it big, I think it was 3rd or 4th and long and nesbitt looked like he was 100% going to pass and just gave it to Dwyer for the big gain, I'm pretty sure that play got blown up earlier in the game but PJ came back to it.

It also didn't break big once early in the game because Dwyer kept it outside rather than cutting up the middle. He obviously saw that though since the next time he busted right down the gut.

No, I mean the call for Dwyer to run it was dumb as **** IMO. The call itself is a great call, but I diddn't like running it to Dwyer right after he just took off for a long run prior. Especially due to the way he looked at points during the game (hurt or tired due to his shoulder...he got beat on a lot Saturday)

that's all I meant NC....is there a problem with that assessment?

I thought I clarified it in the next statement. I think that if Dwyer was to get the ball he needed to run the shortest amount of distance which would have been a blast or dive.

The toss was a fine call just not to a winded RB
