The 2008 VT game

I also seem to remember having some success late pitching the ball to Cox.

CPJ throws something new out every game. You better believe he has something in store for these guys. Last week it was trips package all day long. Before that it was JD running draws, which was very effective.

Stack formation? It'd be great to come out the first play in that, and just see the look on the VT defenders' faces. Plus, we could probably get them to waste a timeout right then.

Most of our yards came on this play:

"Nesbitt drops back to pass....oh shi**...no one blocked. Josh scrambles around for his life while RB Clyburn and Zach Fisher try to get open. Josh makes 1 guy miss and falls forward for a 6 yard gain.

Zackly. That kind of pressure rush can be optioned. And Josh will get better (not great) protection for some passing success.

There were two 15-yarders called on us in that drive.

The one that gave them a first down instead of 4-and-5 was on Taylor.

Yeah, and that was a really obvious facemask. It was the second one that was controversial and helmet to helmet. Right?

No, the face was the first one on 3rd & 7 to keep the drive alive. The facemask on Michael Johnson was a play or two later to put them in position for a chippie FG.

I bet this was hell to call out in the huddle. :laugher:
