The App. State Head Coach is brain-damaged

Conventional strategy is to get as close as you can, center it and take your chances with a chip shot game winner FG. Never leave ample time on the clock for the team with better athletes.

Thank you!

Especially when they have a history of raping guys smaller and weaker than they are.

If he instructed his team to NOT score a touchdown in regulation they could have run the clock down to 3 seconds and attempted a game winning 25 yard field goal. (Penn State had only 1 time out left.)

But, Noooooooooooooo - the receiver runs it into the end zone like a complete and total moron with 1:47 seconds left leaving Penn State all the time in the world to come back and tie the game.

The Coach is an IDIOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's hard to call the HC of App an idiot on one call. Appy played Penn down to the wire and it was high scoring. Apps offense was working as well as Penn's.

If the kicker missed everyone could say the same thing your saying about making the TD - Remember FSU wide left twice.

If you are up by 1 or more, totally agree. If not, I don't think it's an easy decision at all and I can't fault anyone for scoring.

I didn't see the game, but did the refs not allow App St D on the field in the final 1:47? Just curious

This is hindsight buffoonery. You take the touchdown when you can get it. What if they fumble the field goal snap? Hit the upright? Then you’d be here saying the same crap about why they didn’t score a wide open TD.

You take a TD even with 1:30 seconds to go. Your D has shown that they can stop Penn. all day. you do not chance a 20 yard FG for a 1 min 30 sec. TUCHDOWN. You can all second guess that but in MIO,when you are a battel, G5 vs P5 , most GREAT lower level teams will take a loss in the 1st game!

It's pretty obvious that the most correct answer in this situation is to run the clock down to :03 and then to score the winning touchdown. I'm not sure what is being argued here.

You are right! Take the TD with 1:30 left and hold on because The "D' proved they could!.

BUFFOONERY, you say, don't copy me!

I use buffoonery when I'm talking to Dis, Rainbow and 4 others.

Not really good GT man.

In this situation does Appy's HC really have a good choice? Take the TD or guess on points. If App's coach could decide the game before the end, I'm sure he would have chosen a winning TD with 3 sec. left. You're guessing for a low percentage win for a lower level team.

If you're in a one-score game, you're not that much better than the other team anyway, and deserve your fate

"Rusky"

The "Russian Offense" never worked long term, but if you're saying that Appy should have gone for a TD with 1:30 left on the clock, I'm with you!
