Thank you!Conventional strategy is to get as close as you can, center it and take your chances with a chip shot game winner FG. Never leave ample time on the clock for the team with better athletes.
Especially when they have a history of raping guys smaller and weaker than they are.Conventional strategy is to get as close as you can, center it and take your chances with a chip shot game winner FG. Never leave ample time on the clock for the team with better athletes.
If he instructed his team to NOT score a touchdown in regulation they could have run the clock down to 3 seconds and attempted a game winning 25 yard field goal. (Penn State had only 1 time out left.)
But, Noooooooooooooo - the receiver runs it into the end zone like a complete and total moron with 1:47 seconds left leaving Penn State all the time in the world to come back and tie the game.
The Coach is an IDIOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you are up by 1 or more, totally agree. If not, I don't think it's an easy decision at all and I can't fault anyone for scoring.Conventional strategy is to get as close as you can, center it and take your chances with a chip shot game winner FG. This is hindsight buffoonery. You take the touchdown when you can get it. What if they fumble the field goal snap? Hit the upright? Then you’d be here saying the same crap about why they didn’t score a wide open TD.

It's pretty obvious that the most correct answer in this situation is to run the clock down to :03 and then to score the winning touchdown. I'm not sure what is being argued here.
If you're in a one-score game, you're not that much better than the other team anyway, and deserve your fate
