The only reason I'm posting this here is because Football and Beer go just as good at Crown and Coke.

I went into Kroger the other day and to my surprise I saw a 12er of Ying Ling! Apparently whatever law that kept them from distributing in GA has been changed. :D Drink it up Jackets! I know I'll be selling Buicks this weekend!
:drink2:

Yueng Ling. It is great beer at that price, it's one of the things I look forward to most at Clemson. Apparently they just opened up a brewery or distribution warehouse or something in Georgia.

Also, Sam Adam's Winter Lager is right around the corner! Best beer there is!

If I had to rate my winter beers it would be:

#3 - Sam Adams Winter Lager
#2 - Red Hook: Winter Hook
#1 - Sammy Smith's Winter Welcome

Yep I saw the Ying Ling at Publix at Atlantic Station yesterday too. Good beer, great price.

My 3 beers are:

#3. Blue Moon Belgian White
#2. Hoegaarden
#1. Highland Oatmeal Porter

I like the beers on the opposite side of the color spectrum, the whites and the blacks! (Note: not applicable to choice in women)

Sweetwater Festive > Anything else domestic I've had to date

That would be Yuengling. And nothing could ever beat Leinenkugel's Sunset Wheat. (Although Yuengling is a very close second) Don't even try. Taste it and I can almost guarantee that you will agree.

Beer rating

1, Cold, defined as a temp lower that outside air.
2, Colder, you feel the ice bits as they go down your throat.
3, When she picks up the beer, the n's rise on her, oh well do not want to get in trouble with Admin.

Sexual Chocolate out of Foothills brewery in NC is by far the best American beer I have ever had. Gordon Biersch Winter Bock is as good as you'll have around here (though only on draft at the restaurant) as none of the good beers are distributed in GA. You have to trade for or travel to the midwest and the pacific coast for the best. St. Bernardus ABT 12 is also a top brew which can be purchased here at Greens...

Now you're scaring me, dude.

There's a few decent beers mentioned above but if we are going to have a serious beer discussion the talk of blue moon or leinenkugel must go.

As far as Yuengling goes, its a good beer for the price but by no means a great beer period.

In no particular order I recommend some of the following (though not a top 10 by any means)

Saison Dupont
Terrapin Big Hoppy Monster
Left Hand Twin Sisters
Houblon Chouffe Dobbelen IPA Trippel
Dogfish 90 minute IPA
PBR (in 24oz. can format)
Pliny the Elder
Weihenstephaner Hefeweisbier
Bear Republic Racer 5
Rogue Chocolate
La Fin du Monde
Old Rasputin Imperial
Lagunitas Sirius
Flying Dog Gonzo
Sweetwater IPA (not really up to these others but a good go to beer)

Guy I work with says he has two favorite beers:

Budweiser, and Free.

We had a big rollout meeting before we put it in stores. There were three large coolers full of Yuengling at the beginning and three very empty coolers afterwards.

PBR? Great Beer? Really? PBR is a small step up from Nati Lite.

Yuengling is the best cheap beer out there.

Among true cheap beers, though, PBR is outstanding.

beej67,
has a 12 of PBR and a 6 of Oatmeal Stout in the fridge

Good call on the St. Bernardus. Wish I'd had the Sexual Chocolate - just way too limited. You don't have an extra sitting around you'd want to trade/sell, do you? ;)

Distribution from midwest and pacific to GA and South is getting better all the time though. Stone is now in GA. SC has Bear Republic, Founders, etc. NC has Bell's, Ballast Point, etc. Now, if we could just get some Alesmith, Russian River, 3 Floyds, Surly, etc.

I was hoping that someone would talk about real beer on this thread. :biggthumpup:If you like the Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout, you must try Great Divide Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout.

And to you people who love Blue Moon and Leinenkugels, I'm glad you have found something you prefer to the same old macro crap. Now, take the next step: go to a liquor store and pick up any of this: St Bernardus Abt 12, Duvel, Chimay Blue. Then you will know what it really means to drink a Belgian. (Note the ABV though or you'll be in trouble quick!)
