The fanbase and colors

It's not really about fashion, fer cryin out loud; you're right, we're engineers.

It's about branding. Tech's historically done a poor job of that, and it starts with the most basic images people have of Tech athletics, like the colors, symbols, and yes, uniforms.

A. Just because I care a lot about the exact hex triplet for the shade of yellow in my team's pants does not mean that I don't care if the team wins or not. Of course I want the ****ing team to win, and of course I don't think the ****ing uniform is more important than actually winning football games. "Who cares? I just want to win." should never come up in a discussion about uniforms, because you've already stated that you have no opinion one way or the other and thus cannot really discuss which uniform or shade of gold you like better.

B. I care about the shade of yellow and the jersey template and whatnot because I am a stickler for tradition and the Georgia Institute of Technology has a football history that most schools would kill for, and yet we're dressed like an arena football team. The only thing missing is a large corporate sponser emblazened on the front of the shirt, which I expect sooner rather then later. I think if you have a song called up with the white and gold, then you shouldn't be wearing a beige jersey. Consistency would be nice. Looking classy would be too.

The fact is this - the season doesn't start for another three weeks. Once the season starts, you won't see as many threads about the uniforms. And only fashionistas like me will complain about the hideous uniforms.

Players with lower numbers wear a brighter shade of gold. Higher numbers wear darker shade. Create a spectrum. I have seen this work with bridesmaids' dresses. I am going out back to shoot myself in the head now.

Thread winner.
