The Final Word On Fan Reaction to chan

Everyone is motivated in different ways... Some by positive reinforcement, some by negative reinforcement, some by a combination, & some by no reinforcement...

Does anyone know for a FACT that positive reinforcement motivates chan, his assistants & this team? Does anyone know for a FACT that negative reinforcement isn't motivating chan, his assistants & this team? Who are YOU to deny chan & company the kick in the butt that they may need to get over the top & have a great season ??

if you want to give him a kick in the butt, do it personally, not through an anonymous message board website.

august 1 is kick off celebration, the dude will be there, go kick his ass.

august 2 is fan photo day, the dude will be there, go kick his ass.

tonight, the dude will answer questions live on CSS, call him and verbally kick his ass.

why "kick his ass" on an anonymous message board? that seems to be the least effective way to give him motivation don't you think?

if what you're trying to do is give the dude negative motivation, do it in the most effective way possible, cause you know, your "heart" is in the right place, right??

Sorry, beewhiney, you and several others have made it perfectly clear on where you stand. Too late to try to pretend you are a "motivator," or to put any other sort of spin on what you have said. You all know who you are, and so do the rest of us.

Don't like the ref's call? Why boo him & yell at him anonymously? Meet him in the parking lot after the game & kick his ass then

ylo, if you are really a Tech fan.. don't do it anonymously in the stands.. Jump over the railing & give your favorite player a hug.. don't worry about security 'cause they will know that your heart is in the right spot

finally we understand your reasoning to be negative. it is to motivate the team and the coaches. you genuinely seem interested to do that, right?

i'm just advocating the most effective means to motivate the head coach along your line of thought consistent with your theory.

it's your theory dude ... and ur urself punching holes in it. all i'm saying is, if you want to motivate the coach with your negativity, make sure you take the most effective means to do it.

doesn't that make sense?

Well, you know where I stand. Get a new AD, let him and the President make a decision as this year goes on. You cant wait until the end of the season though if things are bad. You must make a change before mid Dec. if things are bad because as Homer Rice stated when asked why they fired Lewis with only 3 games left, "In recruiting today, if you lose time, it devastates you." Well, if we had an AD who knew what he was doing it wouldnt have taken as long to have hired Gailey in the first place-but that's another story for another time. But as Furman Bisher stated' "About the best you can say for Homer Rice hiring Bill Lewis is he got the right man, but not the right coach. Integrity, solid background and work ethic..." Hope and pray I am wrong. Gailey is a good man.

ylo, you are reading too much into it.. I'm just saying, chill out & don't worry about criticism of chan, his staff & players... for all we know they may be feeding off the criticism with an Us vs Them mantra... Do you know for a fact they aren't? You seem to dig turmoil, maybe they do too...

But we do know that you suffer from homophobia. We do know that you and several others think you can say whatever you like about the GT football program and the rest of us are apparently supposed to regard you as "tough-minded," serious fans or something (LOL). And we do know that many of you are delusional about your power: I don't know why you haven't formed a committee of surly StinGTalkers to take over the administration of Georgia Tech and set it right for the Regents.

If keeping a million dollar a year job isn't motivation enough then he is in the wrong business. He may not win enough games to suit me but motivation is clearly not one of his faults.

Oh lord, even if he is using it... it isn't going to do him any good now.

He should have been feeding on it prior to going to Athens or San Jose. He had a LOT more positive energy then.

Good man,....but that really has nothing to do with it. He's at Tech to win football games. After last years pathetic performance,...I'm not very excited about the prospects for the upcoming season. That is what gripes me the most,...at the time of year we should be getting pumped about the start of the season,....I have thoughts of 51-7 and the Fresno fiasco. I hold the "good man" personally responsible for killing our program,..with much help from all on the Hill who don't realize the importance of having a winning program.

After all the progress we made under Coach O'Leary, to see us picked 8th in the ACC is truly a sad day for our program. Hope all of the fonts who bragged about our "academic integrity" when we turned our back on ten members of our family are feeling good about themselves when we are getting our heads handed to us this fall.

Cheese & Rice! You know I used to get caught up so much in whether Tech won or lost it was really bad to be around me when they did lose. With age comes understanding. Chan is DOING the job he was paid to do. I don't recall this much negative criticism of Lewis after his first season (which was a losing season). Of course we had no internet back then.

How about we leave the negativity alone until we see how GT plays that first game. If it looks like more of the same as the last two games of last season then BeeBad I would say the soapbox is yours. If however, they come out and play hard and look sharp... how about posting something positive.
