The difference between postitive reinforcement and negative reinforcement is not whether you tell someone they are good or they are bad.

Positve Reinforcement is being rewarded by recieving something pleasant for doing a proposed task. Example: CCG recieves applauds and a contract extension for a 10 win season.

Negative Reinforcement is the act of taking away a negative task for doing a job well done. For example: If you eat your peas you do not have to do the dishes or take out the trash. Or if the team wins a game they do not have to run after practice that week.
It is not a form of punishment. It is part of a rewards system that is designed to take away something unpleasant for a job well done.

Don't worry, it is a common mistake. But as a teacher I look for "Teaching Moments" and you provided mine for the day. Thanks!

Seems that a majority of the board are hypersensitive to any chan criticism & are overreacting... My original post was discussing positive & negative reinforcement and how people react to it & that they can both be productive, that's all... I've noticed with the Tech community, particularly the graduates a relentless "control freak" trait.. Constantly trying to dictate what others think & say.. The other board borders on Hiyo Hitler in that respect... After the eweGAg game it was, "don't say anything about chan, wait 'til after the season", after the Fresno fiasco it was, "wait until after recruiting", there was an open period for a while where there were no readily available excuses, and now it is, "wait until after a few games or even the coming season", with others, it is, "he has a 5 year contract, wait until then"..
