The future of our Offense (GSU Perspective)

im from rincon also...

the o looked great..started off okay but needed a spark by MJ to get things kicking..

to those that really remember the GSU cpj teams

who would you rather have Adrian Peterson or JD....Now remember AP set many records and also won the Walter Peyton award. "the run" in their championship game is perhaps one of the strongest runs that ive ever seen...

i know a lot of critics are going to bring up the fact that they were d1-aa and the defenses arent the same that JD faces....which is a valid argument..but i guess you'd also have to factor in that APs blocking wasnt as good...

i love ap..i love JD

Adrian Peterson rushed for over 9000 Yards including the playoffs. NOBODY in any division of college football is going to match that.

With that said, he is a product of the system and I'd say him and dwyer are neck and neck but the yards wont be close at the end of dwyers career.

For anyone who is not familiar with GSU's Adrian Peterson watch this...

First post - I also graduated from GSU, attended during Coach Johnson's reign. Adrian Peterson was absolutely amazing. 42? consecutive 100+ yard games. I heard he was the only player to have 10,000 yards in his career (including playoffs, etc). He also lived a few doors down from me in Kennedy Hall my senior year.

GSU did not play inferior opponents. AA schools mean there were more players than A scholarships, that's all. They are not second-class players. A PJ coached Eagles could've beaten Gailey's Tech any day of the week. Do I think GSU was faster than Tech? Yes. BUT, I think PJ's first year at Tech is similar to his first year at GSU, therefore I believe Tech is going to have an amazing run with Johnson also. I loved the Eagles, but I've loved Tech since I understood football. For me, this is a dream!

by saying inferior opponets im not saying that the teams they played are loaded with guys who could never make a major conference team. some had bad breaks, some were the product of crappy hs programs with minimal recruiting power...(im a big fan of tournament series and d-2 football)

however i do believe that saying a d1-aa team is inferior to major conference ball teams....how would you even argue anything different?

sure you can make the argument that GW almost beat us and every year there is a team or two that pulls an upset...but 85-90% of the time the d1 team is going to win..easily......

im sure it has a lot to do with scholarships...as it does exposure and the awesomeness of playing d1 football..

CPJ sold me to GSU over UNC..in the end i opted for valdosta state--mostly because they were the only team who extended their hand after i was injured.

GTBlazer, did you play with or for Hatcher? What a great guy, different approach from PJ but still an equally awesome person. And a pretty good coach too, although not near PJ status right now.

yeah, i played under hatcher at valdosta state....i went in not knowing what to expect and we went from like 5-6 the year before he came to like 9 or 10-2 his first year...(these numbers are off memory to dont quote me)

hes an excellent coach-only set backs may be his ego..

muschamp was also at vsu....not bad for a georgia boy. but kirby smart blows a wad :)

p.s.- as ive said before....hatcher is a mini leach from texas tech.......his old quarterbacks coach during his playing days at vsu

Ho-ly ****. I knew he was one of those one in a million type players but his stiff-arming abilities made my jaw drop.

What is far more amazing is PJ was beating teams sooooooooo bad that Adrian barely played more than 2 quarters a game due to blow outs.

No i'm not joking.

I wonder what his career yardage would've been if he played all 4 quarters? Were you there for those games where the score got into the 70's, or 80's?

Maybe someone should send that video to the Chicago Bears management. He doesn't get as much playing time as he deserves.

Do you post at GSUfans.com? I'm sure the people there would love to hear your experience, especially with the doubts that a lot of fans have, including myself.

i dont post there....i keep up with eagle football as much as possible but it's tough....

i know the big doubt was his decision to go for the win...He is going to do that every time....He did it at VSU in the national tournament on the road...it paid off.....i think he feels like if his offense can't get 3 yards they don't deserve to win....

you can throw his first year out the window because jayson foster although an amazing athelete--he isn't a spread passer....so hatcher was like rich rod at um--except not as bad :)

i tell my eagle friends--dont worry--you'll be fine....and i really do believe it
