I wish the Jackets had some connection with Pacific Islander warfare tradition so that we could come out and do the Haka before the VT game. I mean, watch the video and tell me you didn't once think "damn that's cool..." The video doesn't do it much justice because from what I've read, the entire stadium does it with them. I think Hawaii used to do it before their games, too...

I wish the Jackets ...
I think Hawaii used to do [the Haka] before their games...

I lived in Hawai'i from '92 - '94 (coincidentally when CPJ was the OC there) and my secretary's husband was Hawai'i's secondary coach and used to give me tickets to all the home games. The team would do the Haka before every game and seeing it and hearing it in person will give you chills - it is awesome.

I can only imagine... damn that'd be so cool to hear

Seriously, I get raked just remembering it. Makes you want to rip off your shirt and tear into some raw meat.

Yeah, we saw how that worked out for UH in the Sugar Bowl.

I saw this at the Sugar Bowl a few years ago. Also, the WAC now won't let Hawaii do it on the field (at least for road games). They have to do it away from the other team. Maybe they can do it at home, not sure, but on the road they do it somewhere else.

I was at an All Blacks game when they did it. It is absolutely incredible when they do it, imo.

Here is one where they do the throat slit.

IMO, we would need more than just 1 Pacific Islander to do this. Need to recruit a bunch of them (for Dline and LB. :) )

But it is one hell of a display when done well. And I am glad that the other rugby teams have the balls to stand there and let the All Blacks do it.

It wouldn't bother me to have a bunch of fat Polynesians on the line of scrimmage. Some of them boys are BIG!

Have you seen how our offense is run? Those boys would be more of a detriment than an asset in our offense.

I disagree. Imagine some 350 lb lard-ass performing a cut block. Guys ankles would snap. Then we could put the mobile linemen in.

Maybe not on offense, I'm pretty sure with Samoan D-linemen, they'll keep an ambulance on the sidelines of Grant Field for the skinny QB's who get crushed...

Unforgiven, see above...notice how I asked for them for the DL and maybe LB? (In top 2 of recruits overall last year I think was a Pacific Islander LB -- Manti Te'o)
