More accurately, Tech fans fear the replacement coach scenario. And why shouldn't they? Justin Fuente, Willie Taggart, Jim McElwain, Butch Jones, Chad Morris. These are all real (and scary) situations.

Yukon, you are correct. All I am saying is that "we the fans" think the football has under-performed over the last few years (which they no doubt have) - but, I really believe that "the hill" thinks the team is doing REALLY well (.500 team / good graduation rate / no major transgressions). IIWII.
 
Also why do we always say:

"it is what it is"

Never:
  • "it is what is isn't"
  • "it isn't what it is"
  • "it isn't what is isn't"
Seems unfair that these other 3 choices get very little airplay.

Kiffin, Dooley, Bielema, Willingham...

The grass isn't often greener. Why replace our head coach who has had success when there are things about our football program that need improving that are totally outside the coach's remit?

Ahhhh, but sometimes it is greener. The program blossoms under the new coach. Saban, Kirby, Cuntcliffe, Urban, Orgeron, Frost :-)

Since I am not allowed to start a new thread - how about Alabama out of division schedule for the last 12 years or so:
  • 1 Game vs. a decent (not great) opponent to start the season on a neutral filed - where they have 4 months to prepare. I think they won this game almost every time.
  • 3 home games against the Home of the Blind - they are 36-0 in these games - all blow-outs (people actually go to these games on their own volition!)
  • 2 games vs. the SEC East - one vs. Tennessee EVERY YEAR and the Vols have sucked for the better part of the last decade + one more SEC East opponent which has been either: Vandy / Kentucky or Mizzoo. Only once Florida - never UGA.
  • They rarely play 2 good teams in a row.
  • They NEVER play anyone outside the conference of any repute on the road.
  • Yes they play another SEC East opponent in the Championship Game - whoopie!
My point: If you spend .00000000000000000000001 seconds caring about "who is in the football playoffs or not" - that is .00000000000000000000001 seconds completely wasted in your life. But, we all know this...............

Of course, the above in NEVER MENTIONED on any broadcast. What a horror show.

Oh yes, I am a loser. Lest you forgot..........
 
I'm missing something. Where is it called The Gus? I've heard The Dick and The Willie but not The Gus.
