...missed a question at Tech trivia tonight for Homecoming. The question was; What were the 4 years we won the National Championship in football?

This is clearly Wommack's fault. He needs to be fired immediately or I will personally run CPJ out of town.

How is this newsworthy or surprising? I guess it's stupid of them to have people that have no knowledge of Tech sports trivia in the trivia contest, but I've known plenty of RRC members that couldn't name a single year we've won a MNC, or name other teams in the ACC, or ...

Compared to U[sic]ga's number of titles, I can see where we could lose count of ours. ;)

still bitter I was turned down for RRC... I think I wasnt open enough with my alcoholism and they thought I wouldnt fit in.

You sir are very bold to call out Reck Club especially when you are extremely incorrect! We knew it was 1928, just like everyone else. There was a guy from another team trying to say that it said in the T-book that the national championship was in 1929. We corrected him by saying that the T-book said we won the Rose Bowl in 1929 giving us the national championship (which is 100% true). It could have been worded better, but that guy should have known anyways. Don't call anyone out if you don't know all the facts. I'm not mad, but be careful what you accuse someone with.

Here's a really tough question: What is the first year that Va Tech won the National Championship?

(Hint: To get this right, you may have to have a copy of Biff Tannen's Sports Alamanac. If it's not in there, you're screwed, McFly!)

I wasn't there. But did y'all get all 4 of them?

We may not know everything about Tech trivia, but I can guarantee you that we would never ever get that question wrong. Reck Club was just arguing with one guy who tried to convince the judges he was right.

The guy was wrong anyway, regardless of what the tbook said (though it pains me as a former editor to see it wrong, if it was... can one of you Reck Club kids get me a copy of the printing yall did a while back? Id love to toss it on the bookshelf). Polls in those days came out before bowl games. NC was awarded based on performance during the regular season, Bowls were seen as exhibition games.

Stand corrected, misunderstood the situation.
