These Superbowl Refs are awful...

So what made you a Steelers fan?

  1. 4 super bowls in 6 years when i was a kid
  2. hate for the cowboys, the self-affirmed "americans team" ha, dont make me puke
  3. Their attitude - smashmouth football and always play hard. not flash, smash
  4. my bro lives in pittsburgh, and it is a great city, only made my love of the Steelers grow deeper
  5. when you walk around pittsburgh, you dont see any other team's colors. not like atlanta where you see all kinds of teams, mostly whoever is the new fave. in pittsburgh, its gold and black, for every sport, every day, the whole city, its f'n incredible how much these fans are there for their team

Four wins or four trips? I don't follow NFL really at all.

I guess they're rivals with the 'boys?

Dude, you've just been exposed. You lose in so many ways. You have lost all credibility on this board.

I don't watch professional football because it's not fun to watch to me. Last night was an anomaly for me. One again, we have different view points. Of course you like it otherwise you wouldn't have played.

Did they pay you bajillions?

yes, they are. Steelers are 6 of 7 in the Super Bowl. the only one they lost, they lost to the Cowboys when our QB spiked the ball into the ground at the 2 yard line or something when trying to pass for a winning TD. that was aweful.

SB Date Winning team Score Losing team Venue

Not bad. So they're like the Miami of the NFL? Thugs that win?

because you dont know how to use the threaded posting views, and/or the "reply to" button at the bottom of every post, it makes it nearly impossible to determine who you are responding to, but if you are comparing saying that the Steelers are like "the U" then i will just ignore it, because that is something only a totally incompetent person would say

it has been written about a lot that those Steelers of the 70s were one of the big Steroids teams and are one of the reason that this got more popular after they won 4 SBs, but it was not illegal at the time

these guys did whatever it took to win, including all kinds of questionable stuff. but thugs? no

Harrison and Ward say hi.

FROM DISNEY WORLD

HI..!!!!!

Yes, we got that they won. Congrats.

Winning thugs are still thugs. You can argue that you don't care if they are thugs, and thats fine. Football isn't a delicate no-contact sport.

But they are thugs.

no they are not thugs. football is a game of passion and fighting. a thug is someone who plays like a wuss and but then jacks you when you arent ready

harrison overdid that one play, but he is trained to put his guy on the ground and pound the QB, he did that. too much? yes. PF? yes thug? no no no

Ward has a rep, but he is a WR. there is noone more exposed during games than a WR. if he is such a thug, he would get levelled all the time by other teams and they would take the 15 yards. that doesnt happen. ward hit hard DURING THE PLAY, not after

they dont spit, they dont hit you out of bounds

tennis might be the game for you

It's got nothing to do with disagreeing junior, it's got to do with being an ass.

Yeah, I am the only one on this board with legal rights to treat people like **** and get away with it. Just ask that complete dickhead, chilidogking.

Yeah as long as you have QBs who believe they can throw the ball away like that it will be harder to call I.G. while he's getting tackled. If anything is to be changed in this it must focus on the fact that QB's will throw the ball to avoid the sack. If you don't change that then it's all moot, cause I will agree you can't definitively call I.G. on a QB who is throwing while a defensive player is throwing himself on the QBs throwing arm. This is just my opinion, not stated as fact.

Just for argument's sake, let's go with that.

Now every time a defensive player hits a QB in the arm or in the back as they are throwing it will be "intentional grounding" unless someone accidentally catches it. And would you call grounding every time they throw the ball away into the stands way over someone's head?

Notice the recent rule changes have been to reduce intentional grounding calls rather than increase them. We have the legalized spike and removal of all grounding outside the tackle box.

The NFL has legislated against defense for few years now to increase scoring (and reduce injuries as well.)

The point is a stricter rule for intentional grounding would have its own problems and would be in contradiction to the recent trend.

you can also clearly see that Fitz has Harrison by the facemask.

so if he didnt score, it should have been 1st and goal from the 1, since the half cannot end on a defensive penalty. they didnt call it, but it is clear as day.

so none of the AZ whiners have any kind of a point to make here

Well if you're going to say what they should have called, then you've got to go back to the block in the back earlier in the return.
