This board amazes me

It's easy to forget that these guys are essentially kids. I have faith in PJ and the staff to know how to deal with 'em. I would not want to be North Carolina next week.

Yep hopefully he gets it straightened out fast.

Hopefully CPJ straightens out a lot of things fast.

Talk about a brutal beautiful offense though...One play your carrying the ball 70+ yards to the house and another play your asked to give your body up to sell the play for someone else.

Takes a lot of heart. Someone mentioned Nesbitt being cut up from that shotty field. If that's the case mad mad props.

Give me a friggin break. JD was trying to pump up the team. He got hurt in the first half and is saying he'll be back because he's a gamer. This comes down to the coaches and if they push this off on one player they've got problems.

One player didn't lose this game.

Nobody's saying he lost the game, but dem saying he'll find out "what really happened" seems to point to JD.

Who says he lost the game? You might need the same yelling Phil Smith got tonight.

Listen our best player sat on the sidelines in what looks like minimal pain as we got our butts handed to us. He played the first half, was fine, never was on the ground or went to the sidelines hurt, 2nd half he can't play and never goes to get looked at and still had his full gear on. Then after the game during the radio broadcast all I hear is he will be fine and he just injured his shoulder and then dems says Dwyer was saying it was a stinger and he also is quoted saying that in an article but no one else is calling it a stinger. You got to be kidding me if you dont think its a little weird that he says he will be ready next week but couldnt even try to make it out there to help his teammates the 2nd half. PUSH THRU IT, Roddy has a cast on and so does Burnett.

I love JD. I'm under the strict impression that he is a workhorse.

I can understand frustration, but I sure hope he didn't think he was 'punishing' the coaches and team by being semi-injured.

1 bright point on the O-line...they sure do help out picking our RBs up off the ground after being dropped in the backfield....

I cannot believe people are on here questioning whether JD could play. The guy was on the sidelines trying to pump the team up. He has been a workhorse as long as he's been here. He's said all offseason that if the defenses just attack him, he's fine with other folks getting the ball.

The boy got hurt and then came out and said what any tough guy would say, "i'll be back next game."

I am amazed that you or any other GT fan would be so quick to jump on the bandwagon questioning JD's heart and truthfulness about being hurt.

If I need a yelling for that, then yell all you want.

Back to the OP. This really doesn't amaze me. When we are told that our offense is faster and better at execution. When we are told that we are looking much better as a team, but are a bit week at D-line, people's expectations rise. When people watch games for 3 weeks straight and see nothing but crap, with the only positive being special teams and trick plays, what do you expect?

It's a huge let-down so far.

I am not one of the posters you were referring to because I have stayed positive. But I surely can relate to the negative posters when all reports have advertised a Ferrari and we get a Ford Festiva.

I'm calling it like I see it, just like I've done for 30+ years with this team. This team has a lot of work to do, I've hit on the areas of concern, I have total faith in CPJ and our players have heart.

But to just call it a bad night and move on is incorrect. A compilation of three games now lends cause for concern. I've simply voiced my concerns. If you have a problem with that --well, I really don't care.

I think you and I are on the same boat. All we heard all offseason was that we were faster and executing better. All I've seen is us playing slower and not executing.

My anger comes from these folks bashing Dwyer with little to no evidence to back it up.

I think that's what you have to remember. The board stayed very positive through the first two games, even though we played poorly. You saw a couple of threads that (correctly and constructively) pointed out some flaws in our team, but by and large everyone was talking about how we were going to put it together. Well, you have a third straight crappy game and don't pull it out and you run out of goodwill. That's life, it's not all rosy and nothing but compliments and confidence if you do poorly.

Who is bashing JD? I've just stated what I saw in the sidelines. I've already admitted that everything is speculation at this point because we don't know what was wrong.

Maybe you were getting the game confused from last week. In the 4th quarter of last week, I saw JD grab a hold of every offensive player on the sideline to make sure they were focused and ready to play. Very vocal, acted and looked like a leader.

In the 2nd half of last night's game, all the camera showed was JD sitting alone at the bench just looking around. Not hard to figure out there is something wrong there.

I'm putrid 24/7 so I get a hallpass.

Me too

Everyone was upset after the game so I think they will come out hungry after this one, or they better.

I was a little disappointed in one player tonight but I have to see what really occurred and if there was a reasoning for it.

Uh...they should have been upset after CU and come out hungry for this game.

The "aw shucks" attitude of this board is interesting.

The game against eUNuCh will define the character of this team.

Bad game, we looked bad in all aspects, everything that could go wrong did. The D played horrible. For one minute to see a post questioning Josh or any of the other players heart is just sad. These young men feel worse then any bozo on the internet, they are the one's working their tails off to do well. It just wasn't our night, it happens. Miami played a hell of a game.

So while some of you go jumping off bridges these young men will get back to work and try to make things right, I wouldn't bet against this group of guys.

The tools come out after losses, its ridiculous with all the end of the world post. Get a life.

Thank you Dems, my sentiments exactly.

Eric honestly does a great job, but yes everyone could see that we were winded and it shouldn't be happening in the first half.

Dems, I was talking to someone and he said while it wasn't that hot down there that it was kind of a weird deal. He said he wasn't even playing but was having trouble catching his breath. Did you get that feeling?

Also, I know everyone says it is an excuse but hasn't playing 3 games in 12 days(one where the opposing team got a week off) taken a toll? I am pretty sure we are the only team in the country to have to deal with that and play two pretty good teams in the process.

That's great. Tell them they need to show it on the field, because I as well as a helluva lot of other fans haven't seen a full 4 qtr effort since UGA. We got issues.

REALLY!!!

The game I saw against UGAy ;ast November had us completely stinking the joint up in the first half. I dunno maybe I was in a fog that afternoon.

I'm pretty sure you're wrong on that one. The difference between champions and losers are that losers make excuses like "3 games in 13 days," which, by the way, is a deceiving stat when you normally play 3 games in 15 days.

Trust me. Florida fans wouldn't make that excuse for their championship football team.

Yeah, the cards were just stacked against us. We had to play in a place where it was hard to breathe on our sideline --while the home sideline had all kinds of fresh air. We took all summer preparing for JSU --I'm sure none of that time was spent preparing for Clemson. And we played 3 games in 13 days instead of 15.

C'mon, we were beaten by a better football team who is riding high, has a lot to prove and who basically owed us one. They were a better prepared football team as well.
