After a long hard six seasons of collecting your 1 million plus to deliver us back to mediocrity YOU are in a "class" of you own sir.

It wasn't easy never being in the top 25 to close out a season with the talent you had but you did it.

You came came close so many times to beating UGA... You never gave up being CMR whipping boy and boosting Ugay's bowl resume.

It was never easy having to be polite and talk to people like the media but you braved it through.

So many people think it is easy sitting for so many NFL interviews but you also withstood the storm.

The classy video message about drunk driving saved countless lives and brought so much positive feelings torward the program.

Like Al Gore, you constantly invent things. Where would we be today without the word "chanesque"?

Preparing the team to win a game every year we shouldn't and then lose to teams we shouldn't EVERY year is a legacy we will not soon forget.

Yes, Chan this BUD is for you

And, your 4 million buyout
 
I'm really trying to come up with a decent, respectful response...It might be his time to go but Coach Gailey deserves better than this.

I say not really.

In my time as a Tech student and fan, we never beat Georgia. Last Saturday I had to sit with my UGA fan friend for my third and final time as a student only to endure another loss. Not that getting rid of CG will necessarily change the outcome of the next UGA game, but it's definitely a welcomed change assuming that we build upon past success.
 
Why this guy is walking away with 4 million? Never beating UGA in 6 years. Sorry. He should have been gone three years ago. There is alot of debate about if Chan is really the nice guy so many portray him to be.

I would not be surprised to see him Miami next year. They blew it there. I will be honest... Chan would have gotten them in the playoffs not much more but they would be there.

I've had to much of this patting him on the back thing...We booted him! No looking back.

It's like when you break up with a girl. You can either think about all the good times you had with her on one hand. Or, you can remember what you disliked about her to begin with. Cut off all ties and MOVE on with the HOT chick down the road.

We moved on from Gailey... I was on the fence the past few days... writing that just reminded me what I really disliked about him.

What else does Gailey deserve??? Hell we're paying him 4 million dollars to NOT coach? Hell do you know how long I'd have to be in the Army to make 4 million? I don't feel sorry for him. He did "good" not great while he was here now he's gone. Are we suppose to hold a vigil for him cause he didn't break any NCAA rules while he was here? It was a joke post, smile and let's move on.
 
He doesn't deserve anything except his $4 million buyout. It's a message board. F Gailey.

Bitter?! Hell no. I just posted yesterday saying I was torn on to whether or not he should go.

Class? WTF is class to you? Chan not breakin rules? I mean some of you MAY have met him for what twenty minutes top? Can you judge his class by that really? Get real.

And, I assume it's me that has no class because I stated FACTS in a post that was trying to make light out of a bad era in Tech football. (anytime you have to fire a coach it's a bad era) Hell, it's a joke you guys should lighten up. Not talk about class or assume I lack it because I made a joke about him.

You my friend know NOTHING about me or my HONOR and commitment. Which to me says class.

That's why coaches get contracts. We're paying him because we (GT) didn't hold up our end of the contract. I hope our next coach can sell GT the way Gailey has while maintaining an almost perfect reputation off the field for our football players (I also hope he can win more games, especially against UGAg). I doubt he's at home laughing and rolling around in a big pile of money right now.

HE IS EXPECTED to hold an almost perfect reputation off the field. WHAT? we pat him on the back because some players did what they were suppose to?! I sorta almost feel bad for Chan I know he tried, but that doesn't mean I won't make a joke. AND the contract? Braine's Brain fart of a contract??? Shoulda had a buyout and shoulda had a clause if HE broke it which he tried to last year! Face the facts contact.

Every coach is "expected" to do it. Hell, the whole state loves Rev Richt but I guess as long as he's keeping 'em straight between September and early January it doesn't matter what they're doing the rest of the year.
 
It's apparent that GT fans are no classier than your toothless mutt fan. Less so, in certain cases.

What facts? That you're taking unnecessary pot shots?I realize that this is about wins and losses - and I'm highly disappointed at his team's performance over the last 15 games. Chan did a lot of things right at GT - he did one thing wrong. He deserves more respect. Hell, just follow "mom's" advice - if you can't say anything nice, then don't say anything at all.
