the acc is down, lots of young qb's, this is the year for us to win the acc. It has been frustrating but we could still go all the way.

Two losses in the first half of the season, one of them inexplicable, the other in Miami. The conference couldn't have played into our hands any better, really. Bud Foster better bring his own lube this year.

I was listening to espnu on satellite on way into work today, the guys were saying they think GT should be pretty much undefeated if we won those close games we lost. They were also giving Taekwondo Marshall mad props saying this is just the beginning for him and that they think he is the best option qb CPJ has ever coached!

We’re 3-2, the geniuses at ESPN “thought” we’d be undefeated if we won the two games we lost?? Damn that’s solid analysis.

We are definitely the best 3-2 team in the country.

But we may end up being an OK 6-5 or 7-4 team at the end of the year.

Some teams know how to close out games. We have not learned how to do that. Until we do, we will struggle to beat good teams.

Here's my projection for the rest of the year:

Wake Forest: W
@Clemson: W
@Virginia: W
Virginia Tech: W
@Duke: W
Georgia: W
ACC Championship- NC State: W
Sugar Bowl New Orleans- Alabama: W
CFP NC Atlanta- Ohio State: W

I guess that means Miami does know how to close out games? And the formula for closing out games is getting lucky two weeks in a row?

Stop trying to make winning the ACC this year happen. It’s never going to happen.

Music City is my favorite mid-level bowl game. That would be a nice consolation prize to not getting into the ACCCG.

TRIVIA TIME!
Out of the last 12 ACC championships, how many coastal winners were sitting at 0 losses?

2016- VT 6-2
2015- UNC 8-0
2014- GT 6-2
2013- Duke 6-2
2012- GT 5-3
2011- VT 7-1
2010- VT 8-0
2009- GT 7-1
2008- VT 5-3
2007- VT 7-1
2006- GT 7-1
2005- VT 7-1

What's our ACC record right now?

2-1

We need Miami to lose 2 ACC games. Here’s their remaining opponents.

Syracuse
UNC
VT
UVA
Pity

Meanwhile, we can’t lose another ACC game and still have
VT
Clemson
Duke
UVA
Wake

Miami will cruise through this schedule.

Finding a way to win is not the same as luck. They had a 15 play drive for 85 yards (including a 10 yard penalty) 2:30 to win that game when it mattered.

They overcame gift wrapping a TD on a poorly executed onsides kick.

They forced our offense into two (2) 3-and-out's and one (1) first down in 3 fourth quarter drives. Not luck.

Yeah, they caught a tough ball. We had a ball thrown where our guy could catch it - an easier catch, and he dropped it. They closed, we didn't.

There's a half dozen ways we win that game, we didn't do it.

Luck is something losers use so they don't feel bad about other people winning.

I feel pretty comfortable that Miami will lose one of those games. But will they lose two? That's a little harder to justify.
I want to say "no, they will lose one at most" because they're good enough to win out. But this is still a Mark Richt team and we still haven't seen him do that yet, so yes, it's still possible that they could drop two of those games.

don't feel like making a thread about this because it's been discussed ad nauseum since I've been a member here. but are yall cool with cpj until he retires if we get the occassional 10-2+ season with one that looks nc worthy sometimes and .5 winrates against uga, even though we'll have 6-6 or 7-5 seasons too? at this point, being a fan since my brother went to tech, spending five years there myself, i feel like we have a good coach in him that wins games in an cfb environment that is entirely unfriendly to schools like us, especially compared to when yall were youngsters.

Oh great, we're Bernie Sanders now. Will we still be talking about making it to the ACCCG while the playoff is underway?
