I think they are very happy to see Tech be horrible in football. I think this is exactly what they want to see on the football field.

They think not being competitive in football is a sign of academic superiority.

Being like Vanderbilt and Duke in football is just where they want to be.

The people running Georgia Tech are not even trying to win in football. Having a decent football coach would threaten them.

What if Vandy and Duke is who we are?

Basically the CPJ era had 2 great seasons and was able to coach a Vandy/Duke level program to a few bowls and beat UGA.

Our fan support is only marginally better than Vandy/Duke and our overall football reputation is only marginally better.

Are you asking the school/program to spend a ton more than any other program does relative to that support?

Duke was a better program than us 2014-2019 as sad as that is.

How much money is donated to the GT endowment (Roll Call?) vs the athletics?

If what I am thinking, of course the powers that run GT are going to focus more on the academics side than the athletics side.

Why do you think the president of Alabama does not balk at the costs to keep Saban happy and the constant upgrading of the stadium? That's where the money goes.

Same at Ohio State.
Same at LSU.
Same at Florida.
Same now at ugag now that the ghost of Jan Kemp has been purged.

GO JACKETS!!

They could spend one-fourth what they're spending now, hire any good high school coach and be much less awful than we are now. Collins may be a great person, but he is poison as a head coach.

This is not about money. It's about competence. Last week proved two people in America are just not up to their jobs. One of them is our coach.

You know you may be right , on days like today I wake up & ask my myself why did I have to grow up rooting for a school that doesn’t care about sports

You're an idiot

You're an idiot

How do you know I'm an idiot? I might just be a genius who seems stupid for the first three years you know me. I mean that is your argument, isn't it? Collins is a great coach, he just looks like a terrible coach. But, if we just keep feeding him four million dollars a year for a couple of decades, well, one day he'll turn into Vince Lombardi.

I cut my GTAA donations when coach waffle house scored 9 points between Temple, dawgs, and Hokie Hi.
I cut my roll call donations when the admin paid Tha Fouch(TM Mark Levin) 100k for a speech in 2020. That money could easily provide scholarships for a student or two.
You’re not wrong. Put that in a letter for sure

We are a school with an athletic department attached to it, not the other way around.

The school ought to make sure the athletic program doesn't do anything embarrassing but otherwise let them run their own thing. I don't know why the academic side would ever funnel money to the athletic dept.

The athletic budget I found is a couple years older than the overall budget I found. It isn't that much in the overall scheme of things.

Thanks to strong enrollment numbers and healthier than expected state tax revenue collections, Georgia Tech is receiving $33 million in new state formula funding for fiscal year 2022. In total, state appropriations account for 16% of Georgia Tech’s FY22 budget of $2.3 billion.

Georgia Tech Associate AD/Administration & Finance Marvin Lewis presented an $80.5M "balanced budget to the board, which was approved," and it is "4% smaller than the budget" for FY '20, which ends on Tuesday, according to Ken Sugiura of the ATLANTA JOURNAL-CONSTITUTION.

I'm not saying that the academics side should be funneling money to the athletics side. In fact....and I may be incorrect...it is probably illegal to move funds back and forth.

What I was trying to say is...alumni donates more to Roll Call in vast amounts compared to AT. Therefore the administration is going to put more emphasis on academics....as they should regardless.

If the GT nation wanted an athletics department like Alabama, then the bulk of the donations wouldn't be going to Roll Call

GO JACKETS!!
