This is why the hive sucks...

Beestorm, your comments are

I guess we must be doing something right if no one is complaining about us on other boards. :D

But seriously guys, I love to see lively debate but let's watch the profanity. We do have young readers and ladies participating in the forum at times. As I say this, my hand is covering my avatar.

Go Jackets!

appreciated. At one time, this was perhaps the best site for unfiltered discussion about GT football. Lately, seems like 4-5 posters have overrun the board and the language is sophomoric at best from these same posters. I think the board would be improved by, in the minimum, moving posts to the proper forum (case in point, WTH has this thread got to do with GT football? This quetion was posed to the originator but I am skeptical about getting a response from him/her) and prohibiting the profanity.

this site is enhanced by lack of agendas that seem to be prevalent at the other two GT boards. OTOH, if left alone, the level of discussion may continue to degrade. Appreciate your work and efforts, why anyone would do this voluntarily is beyond me.

They don't want a new coaching staff. If that happens they have to forge new relationships for the Insiders Board.

EXACTLY

The hive blows ass. I got banned for saying...we need to move on.

They can kiss my arse. I wrote him a PM asking if he wanted to donate money for the add I am taking out in the AJC requesting the firing of gailey.....lol..no response.

. On the one thread where someone questioned locking of threads, I posted that they often lock threads when there are a bunch about the same subject...BEFORE RR posted on it I might add.

Consolidating all of the negative post on to 1 thread IS a form a censorship and is part of the agenda. They don't want to look at the board and see 20 negative post. It might look bad to the AA or potential recruits:)

Some may argue that the agenda is noble and beneficial but you can't argue with any credibility that there is no agenda because there cleary is.

It starts with the moderators and is carried out by many of the rank and file over there. Heck, I've seen discussions on the insiders board regarding strategies for handling negative post. It was like they were talking about their children.

Why would anyone ever post on a site like that after reading, "Folks need to remember to post in a manner that positively represents Georgia Tech. Period. I don't care how dire you view the circumstances, you WILL represent the Institute with the highest degree of class and decorum possible. If you don't feel you can do that, then do not post."?

Excuse me?

I just may have to resolve to make sure these fvckheads have their access to our teams removed, thank you very much.

Good luck to them.

They try to consolidate most subjects, not just negative ones because things roll off the front page pretty quickly.

Still don't get the anger. It's RR's board and he wants it to present a positive image of Tech. That doesn't mean you can't be critical of Tech. But he's very concerned about how it's done. If you don't like how he wants it or can't conform don't go there.

Exactly. You guys have a board right here where you can pretty much say and act how you want. So quit crying about the other board.

No, sorry. If there's a board pretending to suck admin dick by falsely expressing the opinions of our fans, they don't need to exist. In most environs, that would be called fraud. I don't disagree that recruiting would suck if our recruits saw the true opinions of our alumni, but to solicit their participation and then give them a false impression is even worse. Then again, our efforts on the field and in the classroom should speak for themselves.

Good post man .

What false impression? It's not like every thread criticizing our coach gets deleted. He's even getting tagged on the insider board.

And do you really think that either the Hive or Buzzoff would allow discussion like in this thread on their boards? Any material discussion on either of those boards that referenced this board would be deleted because it would likely be used to contradict their agenda. That's why you don't see many posts on the Hive or Buzzoff about Stingtalk.

Well let's look at your post as an example. I'm no prude but personally I think any board that allows the language you use should be more closely monitored. No excuse for that kind of language on any board IMO. Great representation of Tech there, dude.

Secondly, RR doesn't represent his board as anything other than what it is. If you don't like it don't go there...simple as that.

Finally, many, many more people post and read the Hive than StingTalk and Buzzoff combined. Wonder which is a more likely true representation of our fans?

I like Stingtalk obviously as I post here quite a bit. I also like the Hive. If you don't, stay away. But your rant makes a couple of things very clear. You don't care about how Tech is portrayed in a "public" forum and you don't understand the concept of personal property.

Actually, I don't go there. I've read it once or twice and decided that a board that demands our fans to pretend to be something they are not in order to 'portray' a false image is not one with which I choose to associate. Please explain how giving anyone a false impression of yourself is ultimately beneficial to all parties.

And I understand perfectly that it is a personal property and not a free speech issue, which is why I appreciate the freedom of expression afforded us on this site and choose to participate here, instead of there.

(And FWIW, I haven't been one of those calling for anyone to be fired, or calling our players stupid or boneheaded, but if someone feels that way I have no problem with letting them express their opinion and using it as a topic of discussion, even if they choose to use such unprudish words as cocksucker, which I'll never understand why it doesn't get all asterisked out like **** & **** do. Must be a South Carolina thing.)

So in your opinion a reasoned approach, with no vulgar language, no attacks on players or personal attacks on coaches, no demands for people to be fired is not a true representation of GT?

Besides if you don't fo there you don't really know anything about the site then, do you? There's no false impression given on the Hive. Every comment/thought that you see here is there, it's just not expressed the same way. It's also not expressed over and over and over.

If it were, would there need to be posts threatening moderator intervention?

As for your assertion that I don't know what's going on over there, I don't go there now because when I decided to involve myself with a message board regarding GT I participated in each of them for a short period and chose to post here exclusively. I found the others to be pretentious, selfserving, and not a true representation of GT.

It is very much the same reason that I don't participate in any of the Fanhome boards, or the ones moderated by any of the local pro teams. The operators have an agenda and it has more to do with self-promotion and increasing the bottom line than it does discussing the topics at hand in a frank manner. As you said, it is personal property and they can tailor the board to meet whatever goals they set. So, as you even suggested, I don't go there. It doesn't mean I don't know what's going on there.

This must be the guy who threatens to throw me out of basketball home games for screaming the word "bull****".

Man that guy is a ****ing pussy. So I guess if you are not under the delusion that everything is ****ing peachy at GT, you cannot post there. What a cocksucker.

don't you go to an extremeley conservative Christian university?

Calm down and relax on the use of pussy which i have read in ever post for two weeks now. When I go to Pepperdine which is quite often you are not the type student they like to show off.
