If we win big next week against UNC. This may be a wake up call. It also may just be a tired GT team that needs some rest for the remainder of the season. We have a long week ahead of us going into the UNC game.

We really weren't obliterated in this game. It seems worse than is it really was. Looking at the score, right now it is 33-17 with 5:12 to go. I don't know what will happen in the next 5 minutes, but for playing as badly as we did today, only being down by 14 isn't insurmountable. Let's not forget that we had that blog in the back that negated 7 points.

I really think we weren't ourselves tonight. We really looked tired out there. Mover and Dems even mentioned this is the forum today before the game about us being tired and not sharp this week at practice.

Regardless, the UNC game will be an omen for the rest of our season.

I also think a major problem that we have this year is personnel issues. We don't have enough high quality O-linemen and our D-line is sub par this year. Once our O and D line improves on the personnel side, I think we will do much better in future years.

Nesbitt is an excellent leader and an excellent QB. He is getting a bad rep due to the horrible blocking by our O-linemen and A-Backs.

Nice post. One game doesn't define a season and as I have said, I feel that the cards were stacked against us for the game. Come out and take care of business against UNC at home and go forward from there.

Glad there are others who are positive here. Look at the UVA game last year. Looking at just that game you would think we were horrible. This is just one game. Not a season. Losing is tough. Period.

Classy play by Miami by the way. Did not run up the score. Played like true winners. I never thought I would say that, but I just did. Still hate their fans though.

How does that Kool Aid taste!?

We have looked incredibly bad on both sides of the ball during the last two games. I hate to say it but we may be looking at a losing season...

Agreed. A wake up call? That's what JSU was supposed to be. And then that's what Clemson was supposed to be. We weren't ourselves? Well, we were the same way all three games this season, so maybe we need to start looking at who we really are.

We beat JSU because it's JSU. Hell, we shouldn't have given up so many points anyway. We barely beat Clemson. And we lost this. If the Clemson game wasn't a wake up call, I really hope this was.

To do that we would have to be the worst team in the ACC. There is no other way. If we can't beat Miss St, Duke, Virginia and I'd even throw in Wake or Vandy at this point then the bottom of the ACC is where we'd belong.

Ok guys, we're not the worst in the ACC. We at least beat FCA teams.

They will hopefully pick themselves up, brush themselves off, and leave this game behind them going into next week and play better.

I just don't understand how three games in a row can be a wake up call. We looked the same as we did against JSU, except wait, much worse because we were playing a team that actually knew what they were doing.
I don't buy into CPJ waking our team up, until well, they WAKE up and start blocking on offense and getting pressure on defense.

till then,
you can drink your Kool Aid

You gotta break some eggs to make an omelette !! Our future looks bright !!

Also, keep in mind we are still undefeated while playing on football fields.

I don't think this game was a wake up call. I am just going to remain cautiously optimistic. I see this game as taking in positives and negatives. The main thing that can be stressed to the players is execution. When the offense executed plays properly we had big gains both passing and rushing. The O just needs to rest up and get back in a physical and mental groove.

The defense I think saw where they were lacking in execution, angles and wrapping up. These two areas can be worked on and will improve over the course of the season.

The only really concerning negative I am seeing is choosing proper personnel. 320 DL will throw around a 280 OG and C on most plays. Personnel selection concerns me alot. I will go with whatever CPJ wants to throw at the D but it would be nice to see subbing en masse for certain plays(i.e. on dive plays bring in the big people and tell the D to bring it).
