When crap hits the fan we all fall back to our training. The players aren’t prepared properly at any position on the field.

I didn't blame the kicker. I honestly think it can't be his fault since he punted last year, and we didn't have this problem. Relax :ughrun:

What is happening lmao? I have never blamed the kicker, and I don't think it's the kicker's fault. Quote someone else :rotfl:

I legit want to know what is different from the past three seasons and why are we now getting punts blocked.

I think you are trying to respond to me.. well for one last year we rugby punted most of the time, so we did not have this problem.
 
I never defended Patenaude, but when he had a healthy Sims we scored points. My warning this year was to not expect Long to do much better. So far I’m feeling pretty good about that prediction.

Same way I can blame the PK for shanking FG attempts. Perfect snap & hold, good blocking....make the ööööing kick.

Apologies. I did not mean to respond to you in a way that insinuated you had made an inappropriate post.

My problem is the criticism of a kid who was recruited for his natural ability but who receives no coaching nor do his team mates who would gladly protect him long enough to get off a punt. So what if he played last year- if defenders are in his face in less than two seconds then that punt is toast.

I’m just stunned that anyone on this board thinks the blocked punts are the fault of a 2nd year kid on a team with no dedicated Special Teams coach.

This has blown my mind since the Clemson game. We have an alum that was DRAFTED as a PUNTER that was here 2 years ago, and now we somehow can't coach a kid to catch-step-kick on a punt? If they can't figure out how to coach Shanahan, why not ask Pressley to spend like 2 hours showing him what to do?
