First quarter was good. Inside out blocking. Gashing CU for large chucks of yards. Defense playing very, very well. Massive pressure on Parker. Clemson O cannot move the ball. Results: moved well and forced a 21-0 lead with the help of ST's.

GT first down yards in the 1st qtr:
INT, 82 AA, 5 AA, -4 JD

Second quarter was fair. CU adjusted and began to pursue well on D. Our blocking on the LOS and at the POA was not as good, but still OK. Results: moved OK, but couldn't convert a 3rd down.

GT first down yards in the 2nd qtr:
5 JD, 6 JN, 32 AA, 1 JD, 1 RJ, 3 JN, 4 AA, 0 RJ, -1 JN, 0 INC

Third quarter was poor. CU began to move the ball offensively and our O couldn't convert a first down. Lots of good plays in those drives, but we just messed up third down consistently. [Once Nesbitt had a shot at the first, but pitched it back to Peeples who got tackled short. Another one, 3rd and 6, Allen goes for 5 yards but cut outside and if he'd cut inside, he has it. The dive is consistently going for 3-5 yards, and Josh is gashing for 5-8 a shot.] We keep pitching wide and CU stopped it consistently, they continued tough on the dive. Nesbitt had 30 yards on keepers in the quarter, but he's not connecting on passes. Our D began to press to stop CU and guys took themselves out of plays. Results: we are close, but just not quite making the reads to get those key 3rds. We were not far from this quarter being an OK offensive quarter.

GT first down yards in the 3rd qtr:
4 JN, 1 JD, 1 RJ, 4 JD, 1 JD

Fourth quarter was fair: D stood up and stopped CU, and Nesbitt took the team on his shoulders and ran the ball 9 times on the last two drives. Two big penalties were huge. Two big kicks my Blair. A solid qtr. of football.

GT first down yards in the 4th qtr:
INT, 1 JN, 14 JN, 14 JN, 3 JN , 1 JD, 4 JD, 3 JN

Overall, we only played one poor quarter of football, the 3rd. We played two fair quarters, which had a lot to do with CU's very good D. We played one good quarter of ball. Overall, we played fair against a good team and got away with a close win on ST production. Lots of room for improvement. I also think we saw that JN running the ball is better than JN throwing the ball, especially deep.
