Thoughts........

Coach Johnson said that good teams don't lose two in a row, and I think he means that. I also don't think he'll throw anything in as a wrinkle. More then likely, he's got a few plays drawn up that we haven't pulled out yet, and they'd got a nice big "Do not open until after Thanksgiving" tag on them.

It's also senior night on Thursday, and it would be an absolute tragedy not to give everything towards a win for some of those guys.
Just two quick corrections:

- CPJ said on the show last night that he does, in fact, have a couple of new wrinkles for the Miami game.

- The Senior Game was officially the Florida State game, I believe. They introduced them on the field with family and whatnot.

You put those two facts together and the only possible occurrence is that Paul Johnson has some new plays that will blatantly lose the game tomorrow night to throw the mutts off the scent. Then, when we head to Athens, he'll unleash the Quad-Option Reverse Calamari Surprise.

I think won't risk playing anyone not quite ready even though he might have risked them playing earlier in the season.

Fans, I want to ask your opinion on something. First, all here know that I'm a huge CPJ fan. That being said here is a thought that entered my mind in the library this morning.

We all know that CPJ plays to win every game but knowing that our chances for an ACCC is almost out of the question do you think IYHO that he might hold back a couple of key players for the nadlicker game? Recruiting implications, state rivalry and stopping their 7 game winning streak is weighing on his mind.

What are some of your thoughts?

My thoughts are these: Prior to the Virginia game you posted convincingly that you felt we would go 2-3 over our remaining five regular season games. Now, after 3 of the five games have been played we are 1-2 with two to play. I thought then and I still think you were very accurate with your prediction. We need one more win to get to the 8-4 that you foresaw. As far as sandbagging the Miami game to improve our chances against Georgia, I don't think it is impossible, but my take on Paul Johnson is he will try to win every game, period. If someone sits out of the game tomorrow night it will be because they can't go 100%. Besides Nesbitt, who would you suggest is being held out for the future?
I really think Jaybo is our best bet Thursday. I have not been to a game this year, but people that have have told me when Jaybo is in the game you cannot follow the ball. A night game, an over reacting defense, and a ball handler whose sleight-of hand is superior may lead to some big plays. If Josh is nearly ready, maybe he comes in off the bench if necessary.
I also think that beating Miami makes the Georgia game more winnable. Lose to Miami and we become more of a desparate team, out of the ACC race and grasping at something to validate our season.

It's difficult to follow where the ball is from the stands regardless of who is playing quarterback. Even if Jaybo did have an edge in that "department" it's still a completely different story from being able to follow the ball from the defensive perspective and it still wouldn't give Jaybo a leg-up on Josh for the starting job.

If Jaybo is injured as well, as folks seem to indicate here and there (deep thigh bruise?) then an 80% Nesbitt may be a lot better option than a 90% Jaybo.
