When a time out gets called in these ice the kicker scenarios, what stops the kicking team from just staying out there and kicking a practice fg or two?

That’d be like Jack Nicklaus hitting a practice shot on a par 3 to help gauge distance and wind.

Why wasn't the clock running. It's only supposed to stop under 2min

Watching Tennessee win a close one with a fourth quarter comeback was painful. Not over the game at the Benz yet. I can only cheer for the Vols one game a year.
 
I think they threw the gatorade bowl on the indiana coach by mistake - good thing he had a sense of humor
