"GT Will Definitely Beat Clemson.......I Promise.... [3]

To the parking lot by mid 3rd qtr to beat the traffic "

They do seem pretty cocky on there without much reason to be. Looks like a game between two pretty evenly matched teams. Hard to imagine any Clemson fan being confident playing in Atlanta these days.

Im enjoying all the brash talk on Tigernet. It's almost like they are trying to convince themselves they are the dominant team but deep down inside you can sense the fear they are trying to hide. Frankly I would hate to be in Clemson's position where they are playing a very dangerous team on the road where they wont get much credit nationally with the win but will get completely blasted for clemsoning if they lose. I expect them to be very tight in this game.

I mean, they have a pretty good reason to be cocky. We haven't beaten them since 2011, and we haven't exactly killed them offensively (scores ended up higher because we scored in garbage time). We have put up points, but overall, they've pretty much ended up pulling away in the 4th quarter when our guys wore out. Our defense has looked very bad at times against bad competition. They have a QB returning that has shown to have lots of potential and guys on offense that are simply great athletes. Their defense has won games for them by dominating the line of scrimmage and using their speed to get to the ball. I think we have a chance, but they have every right to think they will beat us handily. This is our toughest test this year for both our offense and probably defense.

In other words, they haven't lost to us since we last played in Atlanta...when we beat them handily.

You're wrong, but I hope they come out believing they will beat us handily...they scored less than 20 against Syracuse. They shouldn't believe they are going to steamroll a top 25 team and one of the top offenses in the country...on the road. You are giving the Clemps too much credit.

Plus, don't forget the Dabo Effect. Every big game he manages to get his team so tight they couldn't öööö a greased bb (see FSU, 2013&2014).

It is a well documented fact that internet postings directly correlate to a team's performance on the field

Past history has very little to do with how the teams play today. If we and Clemson were the same teams as last year then yes I would feel like we havent a chance. Clemson is not as good as last year (or the year before that) and we are dramatically improved. Every year is a new year.

For a reminder of this, see our Duke game this year. We blasted Duke at Duke last year but got handled this year by that same Duke team, even with our improvement. Every year is different.

We seem to be pretty cocky about the fact we think they're too cocky.

I don't know. I'm definitely nervous about the game. We never beat them comfortably. It's either a tight game we eek out or they blow us out of the water.

I remember thinking those fools in Iowa wouldn't even know what hit 'em cause their fans were so obnoxious on the boards before the game. Annnnndddd then we got shut down most of the game.

I don't know what to think. I was afraid NC State was going to be a boat race like UNC, and then they couldn't catch a cold. Maybe Clemson will throw the ball on the ground and we'll break the ACC fumble recovery record. Or maybe we'll go 3 and out the first 4 drives and never recover after that. I just hope we play well and don't lose because of doing something stupid (like fumbling or throwing dumb interceptions).

Why would they want to be cocky?

let them be cocky. I don't care. According to Newton's 3rd law of butthurtivity, for every drop of koolaid, there's an equal and opposite amount of butthurt after a beatdown.

Is that Cam Newton's Law?

Their confidence is all relevant to the fact that Desahun Watson is starting against us. If Stoudt was starting, than I think both sides would mutually agree that we would be the favorite.
