Their confidence is all relevant to the fact that Desahun Watson is starting against us. If Stoudt was starting, than I think both sides would mutually agree that we would be the favorite.
They seem to think he is going to step in and turn their offense around immediately...
- Freshman QB coming off hand injury, CHECK
- Playing in hostile territory against rival, CHECK
- Pressure to score on every drive, CHECK
- Defense that lives off forcing turnovers, CHECK
I think Watson's a great player and will terrorize ACC defenses over the next few years. But this is an awfully tough situation for him to be in and I'm not convinced he is good enough to magically turn the Clemson offense from terrible to awesome.
