Tim Byerly Letter

Tim is definitely my favorite non-starting player ever.

Also "Heavy Right 28 Solid Rebel" sounds like a man play. I'll bet every single Paul Johnson play call for Tim was like this.

Here's a game, list other probable Paul Johnson play calls for Tim Byerly:

I'll open with "Sawed-off Middle 15 Whiskey Shots"

Bitch slap 92, off tackle left.

So Byerly only really got to play two years of football. Doesn't seem right, I'm pretty sure there is something that needs to be fixed with the rules here.

If the NCAA is taking injuries so seriously, how about not punishing people for suffering them? It's like "Sorry you suffered a knee injury that you might have to deal with for the rest of your life. As consolation, we took a year of your eligibility away."

The decision is sensible though given the rule that you only get a 6th season of eligibility if you missed two seasons for reasons beyond your control. Byerly probably had too much integrity to lie and make something up.

Welcome, Tim, to the legion of successful Institue alumni. The lessons we gained in the classrooms and on the Flats are lifelong resources. From now on, you'll encounter uga attendees in your professional life and responsibilities that you must guide as they struggle with the simplest challenges of the real world. Perform graciously with quiet comfort that you earned your elevated status as they earned their subordinate level. Take quiet solace that you earned not only your Letter, but a long lasting spot in our memories of selfless Tech players. You wore # 18 well and advanced the Lothridge & King quaterback legends for that jersey.

While you will now join us in a long suffering and frustrating heritage of Georgia Tech fandom, we'll look forward to see you in the stands and, perhaps, a ST tailgate or two... There are they good years that more than make it worthwhile.

You did well and played like a real Tech Man!

This might be one of those "when I was a child, I spake as a child, I thought as a child, but when I became a man, I put away childish things" kinda moments. It seems to me Tim has eagerly turned the page and is ready for the next chapter.
öööö good Jacket!

 Of course, you would think that cause you're a dipshit.

If he wanted to move onto his next chapter, why ask NCAA for a 6th year? Why ask the GTAA to publish the letter for him?

This letter pretty much exemplifies why I love college football and not pro ball.

Always like Byerly. He represents Tech as well as any player I have seen in character and as an athlete. The NCAA has disappointed us once again.
