Time to eat some crow about the whiteout

That's where I was. Even though a friend of my dad gave us field level (6 rows up) seats after we had bought the nosebleeds.

Looks pretty damn white to me.

the white out looked great from watching from home the only orange i saw was from a few dots and the clemson section. I expected much worse from what everyone was saying.

There was a lotta orange and plenty of gold/yellow/mustard/highlighter shirts. Whiteout should quit while it's ahead. Just one guy's opinion.

Most of the north stands GT fans were wearing white. Most of the east and south stands fans were wearing white. Everyone around us in the west stands was wearing white. And when we left at the end of the game almost everyone around us in the west stands concourse area was wearing white. It was a sea of white with a blue, yellow, or orange shirt here or there.

What I saw from walking around our tailgating area was people who were wearing white shirts of every kind. And many people who didn't have white GT specific shirts were just wearing plain white t-shirts or white button down shirts or other kinds of plain white shirts.

I was very impressed with the GT fans for coming through on this one in a big way. I don't think it affected the outcome of the game at all but it sure looked good. The GT team was all in white and the GT fans were in large majority in white. COOL!

Looked pretty good on TV, although there was no mention of it from Fowler or Palmer. My only gripe is, once again, second half kickoff comes around, and half the chairbacks are empty.

Fowler also said on air "Go to Hell, Georgia" when talking about our fight song. The ESPN guys seem to really enjoy our Thursday nighters.

I hope the white out is a Thursday night tradition now.

You're blind as a bat or dumb as a rock if you actually believe this. I was in 222 and on all sides and what of the LE I could see, the Whiteout looked absolutely fantastic. When everyone got settled in and thought to look up and see how it looked, there were plenty of comments about how well it turned out. You're going to have a handful of people that forget or don't know - but from where I sat, I'd say it was well over 95% of our fans that wore white.

I don't know if you're venting frustration over the game by taking it out on other things or what, but saying there were "plenty of other colored shirts" on Tech fans is purely, simply untrue.

We sit in 214 and the whiteout looked great. There were a decent amount of Clemson fans behind me in the upper North end zone and then the corner by the band and upper corner of the West stands, but everywhere else was predominantly white. I was not only impressed with the amount of participation by the fans, but also their general attitude towards the game. People stayed, they cheered, they were loud when they needed to be and overall it was a great showing.

Guys, the WHITEOUT was great. I really enjoyed it. If it is any consolation to you all, my voice is gone this morning. I have never cheer that hard in my life.

Way to go JACKETS!!!!!! BEAT MIAMI!!!!!!!

You musta been sitting in the nosebleeds then, because at field level (read: where ESPN's cameras are) it was a sea of white with some orange in the extreme corners.

Either that or he's colorblind.

Here's my pics form the Upper North:

The white really shows up well under the night lights. Good showing. I'm sure the north - particularly the lower north was the best of all.

On TV it was AMAZING! All white with splotches of orange in the corners. If they ever showed the upper north, I missed it.

I'm a firm believer that we should wear white to every home game. Looks so much better than 10 different shades of yellow/gold with a spattering of navy blue and white.

I did notice there was one guy wearing an yellow shirt (it was not Vegas gold either) in the middle of the student section on the south end zone. His seat was directly between the up rights so for every kick the camera was focused on him. How did he not get the memo?

I'm 222 as well --and the whiteout was an overwhelming success. I was very impressed. I was also happy to see that, although there was a contingent of Clemson fans there, their numbers were no way near overwhelming. The visitors sections and the upper north had their expected share of visiting fans, but the GT fans showed up last night --and with the exception of a lull at the beginning of the second half-- were into the game.

It was a beautiful white out last night. I say in the future we do a gold-out.

We actually did this once, a couple years ago against VT. It didn't really change anything, except we got a really amusing e-mail with the subject: "CAMPUS ADVISORY: Gold-Out in Effect."
