time to head over to catspause.com....

We'll see tonight what happens when we meet a fast defense. We haven't exactly put Little Joe points on the board this year. When we consistently put up 30 on the board, then I'll say the offense is working. I'm not saying it isn't better than Gailey's, but we only scored 7 points against UNC.

Also, if I remember, 7 wins was the Gailey litmus test. So I would expect PJ to exceed that number before annointing him a success. That may not be this year.

F$U had a very fast defense. You shut down the option with disciplined defense, not speed. Although those F$U players did a wonderful job of running blazingly fast to the dive man. Unfortunately for them, it didn't really help because the ball was already being pitched to the A-back by this point.

So you've drank the kool-aid. Since you want to make fun of me, prove that the offens is working consistently with actual facts instead of trying to belittle me. As I said in the previous message - we scored 7 points against UNC and have gone extended periods of time without a first down. We've scored over 30 only 3 times and one of those was Jax State.

GT also had a measly 423 yards of offense that game. That would put it in the top echelon of Gailey's total yard performances.

It's fair to say the offense has had a lot of turnovers, the killer of many potentially scoring drives. But that's an execution thing, the way the option is schemed has worked very well by any standard.

I still think it was dumb to fire Gailey back when he had 5 years left on his contract. What that would have done from a financial perspective as well as what it would say to possible coaches would have been disasterous. But Gailey was just not a college coach who could inspire players to play without paying them and CPJ is a clear upgrade over him.

I'm not defending Gailey. I'm just cautious about annointing CPJ before he shows consistency. Tonight's game showed me a lot. It was a very good win and I enjoyed watching us keep our foot on their throat until it was completely out of reach. It will take a couple of eight win seasons before I'm completely sold.
