I see he has an "Enterprise" T-shirt on in one of the Scout pics. Is he a product of Enterprise High School just outside of Dothan, Alabama? That school was hit hard by a nasty tornado last spring.

Barnes looks like he will fill a big need (both figurativley and literally!) That said, what's the chance that he'll qualify and get in school? Anyone have any scoop that indicates how much more he needs on his test score?

I would think that his grades/stats would've already had to clear the "hill" or don't think we would've been offering esp this late in the game....just my gut feeling

Apparently that's not yet the case. A week or so ago he was quoted as saying that he didn't do well on the ACT but that essentially the Tech coaches were hoping he might get it up. Based on the quote below from Barnes, he has not yet qualified. Many people think we don't take academic recruting risks, but there's no doubt we sometimes do, and this looks to be another case of that. It sounds like we committed to offer him a scholarship before he cleared up his academic issues.
I hope he makes it as we need the big guys that can move with this new offense.
