Actually, this message is more for Tech alumni and students. Think back to one of your frosh weed-out courses, such as a low level calculus or chemistry course. Remember how the exams went? For the most part, you didn’t do stellar, but you did enough to ride the curve and keep your head above water. Then the final came... and you got absolutely shafted. Remember that?

Well, that’s what CPJ just experienced. Welcome to Tech! But this was just his Freshman year. He finished with a 2.769 GPA*. Many at the start of this season thought he’d be on academic probation.

* It’s not subjective. I simply multiplied our win pct by 4.0.

So yeah… we tripped over our own feet and embarrassed ourselves. Maybe we could have studied harder, but maybe it wouldn’t have mattered. At any rate, I expect CPJ will make "Dean’s List" in subsequent years and hang around for grad school.

As for me… I’m a Tech Alumnus… I’m used to having my hopes raised only be dashed later in rather harsh fashion. Meh? Life goes on. I’m over this already.

Exactly.

Another silver lining? ESPN will have plenty to talk about after the BCS bowls tomorrow.

I wish for the best for Tech football, and while I am not I am not an alumnus, I have been a tech fan as long as I have followed college athletics. I can agree on the cal course. While I was at Columbus State and Southern Tech in Calculus II I still did below average. That is why I kinda gave up on Post secondary instruction as a whole and just joined the Navy. I figured that math was not my subject matter and I would just continue upon the path that I had chosen. So I have continued upon the Business Information Systems route at another college and just called it a day. I would have just continued upon the route that I had chosen previously, but things had not went in that manner. So I say, remember enough about previous events that you know what has happened, but know that in the future that you are capable of greatness. Take that knowledge and move along. All you have to do is complete your task and move along. Once you are complete all you need to do is pay attention and your successors will fulfill your previous task. Lets just hope that your successors understand their task and assume their position. I think that Tech will do the task at hand, an hopefully will do everything we need them to do next year.

Later,
Allen.
