Toddcast episode 16; change in student seating

I dont get the field view weight room fixation. Everyone does that in every cowtown.

If we want to excel, we need to have a Atlanta skyline weight room. A penthouse weight room. The problem is the Edge isnt tall enough. The new Techwood dorms we got from GA State are.

If it was me, I would put a gym on the roof, or the top floor at least, of those dorms with a gorgeous view of the city. None of the cow colleges in the southeast could compete with that.

Put the athletes in those dorms and now we are talking about recruiting.

Hell, put a players lounge up there too with games and the skyline.

I touted this idea years ago on ST.. why haven't we done this yet

Build it directly over the 3rd Street tunnel.

While we're at it rename it the Bobby Dodd tunnel.

Oh yeah that would be a decent idea. I thought the discussion was about crossing the interstate.

They should make that intersection like 5th and Spring where traffic stops in all directions and you can cross diagonally or straight across.

But I could not care less as long as it is bigger than ugag’s.

The only thing across N Ave is a dorm and Alumni House. We have built an entire campus on the other side of the 5th St bridge. Pedestrian bridge seems excessive.

You should see how bad pedestrian/vehicle traffic interface at the intersection of Techwood/North Ave on a school day before dismissing this idea. Something needs to be done. It's not safe for pedestrians, and it's frustrating for drivers when people cross when they aren't supposed to do so.
