Has once again picked against GT this week. Good news for us, he picked FSU to beat us too.

Now that we know Nesbitt is A-OK and with a little confidence in Claytor, seeings how both of those new guys did fine against FSU other than one botched play, how do you think we will fare?

I think it will be close no doubt. This game has been pretty scary since I realized UNC ain't no joke this year. That said, their secondary and INT's ain't no joke, but the rest of the team is good, Nicks is pretty good but I would say Carr is a bit better. The only problem for UNC is that their impressive wins come when there are a lot of INT's in the game, and obviously they cannot count on that from GT. Their wins come like this:

BC: 3 INT's
UCONN: 3 INT's
MIA: 2 INT's

Not sure how many are pick 6's from that. If you take away those INT's their wins are not so impressive. I think that is the differece in this game. Also, obviously the offense from GT is def. going to be a big difference.

I'll say:

GT: 21
UNC: 17

we score much more than 21 on them, their defense is not as good as the others we faced.

Agreed. I've watched a couple of UNC's game and I was very impressed by their entire team. Whether it be the offense, defense, or even the special teams - they can put up numbers on the scoreboard.

The biggest threat that their defense has is definitely interceptions so if we're behind late in the second half and forced to throw the ball, we will be in trouble. Also keep in mind that they kept Cedric Peerman in check and kept him under 50 rushing yards in their OT loss to UVA. I think our offense executed well against FSU but I also think FSU made some no-brainer mistakes defensively which I don't think Butch Davis will allow UNC to make.

Our offense has to start off on fire like they did in the first half of the UVA and FSU game. The pattern I've seen so far this year is that our offensive production tapers off in the 3rd quarter and we always seem to let the other team catch up to whatever lead we've built. It would be awesome to see us build a decent lead and keep it until the end of the game.

Statistically, UNC has the best passing QB and WR combo in the ACC so if our defensive line can't pressure the QB (like our game against UVA), our young secondary is going to have a nightmare of a time defending the pass. They also love running (double-)reverses with Nicks and Little (WR turned RB turned back to WR) to spread the field out for their passing game.

I'd have to say that this is the toughest challenge yet for our team so far this season. On the other hand, I think Tech is the toughest challenge they face this season.

I thought barnhart didn't make his prediction until Thursday night?

Either way, this guy seems to pick against us a lot.

BarnedHeart is a dawg. I like him ok as far as dawgs go but he's a dawg. Sleep with one eye open.

UNC? BIG. BIG. Big game. The Tarholes are dangerous. I just hope the staff has us going after them instead of just playing to win. They'll eat that up and keep coming back for seconds all day long. We need to stomp their nanny beehinds in the dirt.

I had the feeling our offense was about to come on fire last week before JN came out with his injury. If we can regain that rhythm and speed, I think we can win this game with our offense. Injuries and inexperience on defense should be our main concern, but I've been impressed with the younger players stepping up and making the plays. The UNC fans are starting to get on the bandwagon, but as road games go, this will not be as tough an environment as VT or Clemson. If we start out strong we can take the crowd out of the game. This is a HUGE game as far as this year goes. The players and CPJ deserve this win. I hope they get it.

I think UNC is the most complete team we have faced this year. I don't think they are the best in any single area, with the exception of secondary, though. They are just very good at every position.

I think our offense will be fine. Getting an extra week to practice against the TO won't do them any good if they aren't running it properly on the scout team. I think that was FSU's problem. Clearly that odd defensive formation worked in practice. It didn't against a team that was running our offense properly. Also, look how long it took our Oline to start playing well. Do you think UNC's scout team is getting that low? If they are, they are probably having the same balance problems our line has dealt with.

I think we are in for a fight. If our O preforms for 4 quarters like it did for 3 quaters against FSU, we will win. That assumes our D makes a few stops and gets off the field (no UVA type meltdown).

I've been leary of this game since early on in the season and now it's here upon us. I'm confident GT will be prepared and will come out ready to play --but I think UNC has a good football team as well, and it's going to take 60 minutes of playing good, hard, smart football to win this thing.

This is the biggest game of the year for me. I can't wait to walk into Kenan Stadium on Saturday with my Dwyer jersey on. I have been looking forward to this since the schedule first came out!

I've been excited about this game for a long time.

I've always said UNC hasn't proven to me that they're ready to be the next big thing in the ACC. This Saturday's game against us could be their springboard into the Coastal title.

This is going to be an exciting couple of weeks. Every ACC Coastal game is an elimination game. Somebody has to step up and be the team that doesn't lose 3 or 4 games.

With Miami being off this week, the picture will be very clear for them when they dig in for two weeks of crucial Thursday Night games. (It's actually pretty cool that for three straight weeks, there will be a pivotal ACC game on ESPN in prime time.)

I say that with things about to get hot and heavy, we head into our bye-week dressing our wounds with ram-skin. We'll have a slow first half but we bust loose in the third quarter and win 38-21.

Barnhart is a good writer. You can't blame him for picking UNC this game - it's really a coin flip at best, and they're at home.

This will be a tough game. It is pretty much the unofficial ACC championship in my eyes because UNC and GT are definitely the two best teams in the ACC from start to finish.

I am so pumped ... is it Saturday yet ??

We really need our defense to step up and play well. They looked dominate for the first few games, but have looked vulnerable against Virginia and somewhat against FSU. We need that DL to bring havok into the backfield. I'm worried about the quick slants and short passes.

Our offense should be fine. With Nesbitt healthy and the whole offense finding their rhythm, we will score points. My concern is that UNC will too, and a big turnover could make all the difference.

Hang on to the football, boys!!

I think it will be a high scoring game, but other than that I haven't a clue who will win.

I don't see it that way. Both of us played UVA and VPI the same way. I think it'll be a 21-20 type game.

Carr is better? Based on what - physical appearance? Give me a guy who makes plays over a guy who "looks good walking off the bus" anyday.

We get at least 30 points on them. And we probably need it too.

UNC is going to ball control us to death, just like UVA. This takes away the number of times we can touch the ball and that's not good for us.

Unlike Miami, UNC is a disciplined team and like UVA will be tough to get the ball back from.
