Top 10 Games of the Last 10 Seasons

It really was strange how it felt that way to be honest. It was a super cold morning and a very windy day. The field storming after the game was as lack luster as I have ever seen.
Wasn't that the game Snoddy broke his leg? That was a buzzkill. The pick 6 by Milton was incredible though.

The 14 Orange Bowl was the most fun I've ever had watching a game in the PJ era. It's number 1.

The UGA wins all took years from life.

1. georgia 14- both top 10 teams at end of season
2. georgia 08
3. georgia 16
4. Orange Bowl 14
5. ACCCG Clemson 09
6. VPI 09
7. FSU 08
8. FSU 09
9. Clemson 09 (regular season)
10. VPI 14

All of these were 1 possession games (exception orange bowl, which was capper to best season since 90).

FSU 2015 was just a fluke win, fun but meaningless. Basically the best games all came in years where we either beat georgia or won the conference

4 good seasons(9 or more wins/won ACC or beat the mutts)
4 mediocre season (bowl game)
2 bad seasons (no bowl)

Re FSU 2015: there ain't no such thing as a fluke win. FSU was lining up in the same exact spot to beat us as Pitt did prior home game - with a better kicker, not Blewitt or whatever Pitt's kicker's name is. Our DL made a fantastic block followed by a heads up, incredible run back for the win. We earned that win.

Actually agree with this except that 2008 UGA started it all and should be #1

I think this one should come in at #10
GSU, brand ne to FBS, was down at the half by a large amount & comes out to go ahead in the last few minutes of the game.
The Georgia Tech team recomposes, as great teams do, and wins it in the last 30 seconds.
Georgia Southern lost to a FBS Carolina team a few weeks later. I didn't mind the GT loss as much as the other.

They added years to me. Even at halftime at 08, I just believed we were going to win. Some how, some way. My buddy was ready to jump out of the box at Sanford Stadium. I told him to hang on - we'll get this done. Admittedly, 14 was a little tougher, especially after Mitchell scored the game-winning touchdown for a story to tell his book club. But I just thought, we are dominating this game. We will find a way. In 16, as soon as JT hit Searcy for the big gain, I just knew it was over. You could feel the mo moving to Tech. And once Austin got the tipped pass ... ballgame, bitches.

That game should have been over after the first series of the third quarter. But wasn't there some very avoidable penalty that turned what would have been fourth and I-16 for a first down for the Eagles?

I wonder what Ellison would have done in PJ's offense.
An aside, the guy who did this video is a very, very good friend of mine. One of my favorite people in the world. He and PJ go way back too.

I'd have to watch the whole game again to see what your talking about. Still penalties are a part of the game. Sometime they work for you and sometimes against.

Still GSU did mount a comeback when a lot of teams would have folded.

Ellison would have done very well as a GT QB along with about 5 former GSU QBs. from the Erk & Johnson eras & we were lucky to have them.

Well, we know what Tracy did in a PJ offense. Greg Hill, too.
Man, what about Chaz Williams? Imagine that speed with PJ coaching him the whole time.

Where's the love for 09 VT? IMO that was when we established ourselves as the top team in the ACC and got a serious monkey off our backs. Shit talking from Chancellor, whining from Beamer, All the Way Turnt Up playing every 2 minutes - all reasons it's #4 for me (just behind the 3 UGA wins). Orange Bowl win is a close 5th.

Even ESPN called Chancellor out in the highlights.

Nesbitt drops back. Nesbitt fumbles. Nesbitt watches the defender pick up the ball. Nesbitt says not today mutha ööööer. Nesbitt takes back what’s his.

What a play

And we get a first down due to the change of possession! I think it would have been third down otherwise.

And we had played an entire game to keep things even against FSU in order to be in position when the ball bounced our way.

That GASO game was electric on the game winning touchdown. The biggest play of that game IMO was the huge forced fumble on the pitch by Golden. That literally saved our season. Golden was so underrated IMO.

He had:
  • The pick 6 against Clemson
  • The huge interception in the end zone in the 4th quarter against FSU. If he doesn't get that, FSU may go up 2 scores, and no "Miracle on Techwood Drive".
  • The big punt return against USC in the Sun Bowl.
  • Game ending interception against USC
  • Amazing forced fumble on a hard hit against MSU in the Orange Bowl.

And we had played an entire game to keep things even against FSU in order to be in position when the ball bounced our way.
The more I practice, the luckier I get

can't damn remember - Sam Snead?
