3. 98 mutt
4. 04 Clemson
5. 98 UVA
6. 14 Mutt
7. 14 OB vs. Miss State
8. 2000 Clemson
9. 07 ND
10. 05 Miami

this list closely matches mine. 2000 Clemson gets no love but we went up there and absolutely ruined their previously-undefeated, highly-ranked asses and just ended their season. 1989 Clemson was fun too. "You Gotta Believe" being flashed on their stupid scoreboard for their dumb redneck fans when we were up 34-3 or something was LMAO.

edit: yep - Clemson was 5th. Our loss started a 3-loss trainwreck to end their season.

TL:DR - öööö Clemson

That 2000 Clemson game was great. That was the “sad pumpkins” game - some great pics of dudes with pumpkins on their heads at the end of that game.

Kerry Watkins’ game winning catch, redeeming himself from a failed 4th down catch in the end zone in OT against N.C. State a few weeks earlier, was way more exciting then even Calvin’s coming out party at Clemson a few years later.

*in the minor leagues, at a clown college

Chan won a national championship too, but you don't see anyone around here bragging about that
Hard to call other schools clown colleges when Bozo himself is our head coach.

Sounds like Chan deserves some more credit than he gets then.

1990 aganst Maryland in College Park stands out to me. It was our first road game that championship season, and I was there. The final score was "only" 31-3, but the game itself wasn't that close. Their QB was Scott Zolak, who played in the NFL for several years afterwards. But I think Tech sacked him something like eleventy-seven times that day (OK, it was actually only eleven). Offense could have easily had 45 or 50. It was an absolute bloodbath. And it was the first time that year that I said to myself, "You know, they actually look pretty damn good."

Chan does for all his other 11 regular season games, but the last one is why he's not our head coach.

I have to cheat because I was there for the 79-81 seasons, so the ND 3-3 tie is the best game I have seen in person.

My favorites on TV are mostly everyone else's.

I did listen to the Alabama win in 1981 driving back to school through Alabama.

and when I looked up the years for those I noticed our all time record is still 740–518–43

I guess it takes a longggggggggg time to screw that up. It would take about 37 more 3-9s to get to .500, actually exactly 37 I think.
