You would think after slamming ND (even if they are "rebuilding") we would definitely be a top 25 team, but no one in the top 25 lost (except to other top 25 teams and Michigan which will not drop out of the top 25). I do not see the pollsters kicking someone out of the top 25 since they all produced wins, even if most of those were cupcake games.

Any of you think we will get in, or does it really matter?

It shouldn't matter, but for the pride of the team I think it is important and that they do deserve it.

Michigan should fall out of the top 25 so there's one spot and Tennessee lost by double digits to Cal so I think we will be able to slide in there to number #23.

Well, UT didn't lose that bad, and they were playing a higher ranked team, so I do not see them losing more than 10 spots and falling out of the top 25. I predict UT will be hovering near 25 though.

I just do not see Michigan losing over 20 spots. Are pollsters more fluid with changing ranks since the current one are only preseason estimates?

I really HATE preseason rankings.

The only reason I bring this up is because I read some comments before the game about some of our players feeling snubbed about being left out of the rankings. So I know they all look at them. I just think it would be a slap in the face to them to be unranked after what they accomplished today (well, I guess yesterday). I don't care who you are, playing away at sold out Notre Dame Stadium and absolutely destroying them is awesome and deserves some respect.

Yeah I don't think UT will fall out of the polls but their loss will allow us to go to #23.

As for Michigan: There is no way that any Top 25 caliber team loses to a DI-AA team. Even a top 25 team playing at their worst should be able to handily beat any I-AA team. JMHO.

I think we will see a #23 ranking on Monday morning.

Don't sweat the polls. Keep winning and it will come. Remember this--in 1990 Tech was not ranked in the pre-season. Tech did not break into the AP poll until October 1 at #23 after beating an undefeated #25 South Carolina team 26-7. And we all know how that season turned out.

Are the polls coming out Monday or Tuesday? FSU-CU game is Monday night.

I also don't think we break in this week. I don't think Michigan will drop out of the polls. After we beat Samford though we probably will, assuming someone else in the top 25 drops out. I also agree with UncleBee though...the polls do suck a lot, but if you keep on winning they tend to take care of themselves.

Looking at the Coach's poll, I think we could definitely go in if Clemson beat FSU. FSU's ranked 21st and definitely would go out with a loss.

GT and BC are tied at 26th and I would think that GT gets the nod over BC.

I wish I could remember the year. Once we lost a close game to ND and actually moved up in the ratings.

Will that game be complete in time for the vote? The polls are normally released on Monday.

The polls are normally released on Sunday but for the last few years, the polls have waited until the day after Labor Day for the result of FSU-Miami (or FSU-Clemson this year).

Ok, thanks. I guess I was thinking about basketball for the Monday polls.
