For me "newcomer" has to be a guy who hasn't played much yet, but shows up big for the team.
My picks with 20/20 hindsight:
Defense: Cooper Taylor. Burnett was a star last year, imo. Coaches wanted to redshirt him, but couldn't keep him off the field. Honorable mention: Kyle Jackson, Sed Griffin. All 3 will improve.
Offense: Jaybo Shaw. QBed us to wins over MSU & Duke. No big deal you say? Without Shaw we almost lost to Gardner-Webb. Jaybo showed he could come in, learn the offense, and distribute the ball. Will only get better.
