and HIS stands are filled Gold and White.

Congrats to a great GT Head Coach.

Great caoching win for GO.

Best move he made all day was insisting that they not douse him with gatorade at the end of the game. Nobody needs to see GO in a white shirt, wet-t-shirt contest.

Congrats to GOL!! I have adapted UCF as one of my favs ... not quite as much as GTO though ;)

O'Leary left us, not the other way around. He's a good coach and will have success at a school that doesn't try to be MIT during the week. He's not hated but why anyone would think it is practical to even fantasize about him being back on The Flats is beyond me. Give it a rest.

Congrats GOL.

I agree!!

I also think it's funny that even a college dropout like George understands that a white helmet on a gold jersey looks better than gold on harvest gold.

point is, i dont wish ill will on the man. he was the 1st coach since Dodd to beat UGA 3 straight... Thats enough for me...

My only problem with GOL is that he left GT for greener pastures. Same with BC & BR.

I'm sure you wouldn't take a job at twice the pay at a prestigious competitor. You would turn down the job out of loyalty to your employer and explain to your family that you are not allowed to improve your lot in life.

Georgia Tech benefited greatly from the services of O'Leary.

But would your former employer be excited for you when you outperform his replacement?

I would probably take the greener pasture, but I wouldn't expect my previous employer to be grateful.

Funny how things that go around come around, however. GOL is now at COF, Ross finished his coaching career at Army and Curry concluded coaching with a short stint at Kentucky.

That's no reason to hold your employees down. If O'Leary felt that way, Ralph wouldn't be working at MD right now. O'Leary actively supported Ralph's aspiration to be a head coach.

Congratulations Coach O'Leary - a conference title and another division title in four years at UCF. Look at the color gold the man has UCF in - you can tell he likes Tech. He did a great job for us and left us for a storied national program. He got embarrassed, but I would have taken him back. The main reason Gailey's years were unsatisfying to many is they simply did not match up to the best O'Leary years with wins over UGA and Gator Bowls.

Also, congratulations to Goose, I hope he will someday find his way to coaching back at his alma mater.

O'Leary was his boss, not his employer...and they are part of the same fraternity. Alot has to do with the circumstances with which the employee leaves too. It's rather difficult to overlook the fact that he lost that job within days due to fraud and then broke the stipulations of his contract.

I imagine everyone would be on his side, except when we play the Irish, if he was still there and succeeding.

ross left us
curry left us

It's curious how some GT fans find it necessary to single him out and for what - because he earned his keep, PLUS????

Damn, the guy did a great job here and left for his lifelong dream. He had it written into his contract.

Curry and Ross left. I don't fault either of them although Curry should have left before he did.

I can safely say I wouldn't lie on my resume to accomplish that. Before we get the blah blah blah about how someone else should have checked into it how else would him being a letterman on college get on there if he didn't just flat out lie about it? Some people try to say how GT shouldn't accept mediocrity, blah blah blah, but if the O'Leary era is looked back upon as some sort of pinnacle of success then that proves a part of the fanbase has a mediocrity mindset without even realizing it. He had one 10 win season, where they got drilled by FSU, which was the only other decent team in the conference, and was back down to 6-5 as he walked out on us but to hear some people talk about him you'd think he had a string of championships.
