Tough day for the OLeary haters..

O'Liar...

plain and simple.

Sugarcoat it however you would like to.

He lied on his resume. And I believe he still owes us money. He's a "deadbeat" coach...

Pay us our money George.

Get over it! Rad said when he first got here that GOL was paying back that money - there is an agreement.

He lied on his resume, big deal - it didn't hurt Tech like 6 years of this moron did!

GOL got paid and earned his keep here - Chan got paid and never did.

GOL has a positive legacy with Ross - Chan should have been booted 3 years ago.

IMO you're jealous cause the guy with all the resume **** is doing well - good for him!

No, DRad didn't ever say such a thing. As late as this Spring he was saying he couldn't comment on it. And this Fall, he said that a settlement had been reach, but he was bound to not discuss by the terms of the agreement. None of that means anything was paid back. GOL never should have let it get that far.

I was shocked at the title of this post. I have been on a lot of boards, and I have never seen a lot of hate for George O'Leary.

I have seen people who were disappointed with the probation caused during his tenure, with his deciding to expand the stadium, then leaving, and with the resume scandel/owing GT money thing. Also I have seen where some wondered whether the Fridge wasn't really the reason for his success.

But, by-and-large, even the people I have seen complain about these things also acknowledge that GOL did a lot of positive things for GT.

I do not think there are many "GOL Haters" out there.

I think this post pretty well sums it up. I certainly don't hate GOL. Just disappointed in how things went for Tech...sour grapes, if you will. Tech believed in GOL and invested a lot in him.

Maybe he can afford to pay us the several million he owes us now.

Or would that be too much to ask?

I wonder how good Notre Dame would have been if George O had successfully transitioned into their HC. Probably would have been quite succesful. They obviously have suffered from that themselves.

Rad DID SAY THAT A COUPLE OF MONTHS AFTER HE GOT HERE. He also said that had been negotiated when Braine was still here and that it was not his deal.
