Tough Day To Be A Gailey Fan

Do you even care about the Jackets at all. I don't understand how you can say such a smart ass comment after a tough loss like that. I can see you now, with a little grin on your face...probably wearing white and gold, but certainly wearing orange socks and blue underwear. Anyone who can laugh at a Tech loss because they don't like Chan is a piece of trash and not a fan I want to wear the same colors as me. The Georgia game will be on in a few minutes...I'm sure they ould love your GT pessimism, but hurry you only have about 30 more minutes to throw on a red hoody and black sweatpants.

On the contrary, there was nothing tough about it. Virginia is clearly the better team as we were physically beat by their offensive line. Reggie showed little poise and continually made poor decisions. We played poorly and Chan reverted to form with a subpar coaching performance. All of which should be expected by even casual observers of
Georgia Tech football over the past 4 years.

I have been a fence sitter but have decided ...

where I stand. Lose the next 2 and I want a change, up to withholding any contributions to the GTAA and sending a note to that effect to Mr. braine. Win 1 of the next 2, preferably the last one, and I will go along with a 2 year extension (I prefer paying buyout dollars to handicapping us in recruiting). This response is not made in haste after a loss but I have been waiting to see how things played out. It's not that we lost but this offense is painful, the worst offensive philosophy since the early Bill Curry years. we simply cannot win when the D has a bad day. Our special teams play is simply terrible and no improvement has been forthcoming. Does this staff have any ideas of how to correct the problems?

HA. Me a Mutt fan? No, I went to college. I bleed white and gold and want to see us do well, not give up games which we had a VERY good oppertunity to win and turn a corner for the program.

I WANT Gailey to be successful, I also want people to be realistic about things. Bring on the defeatest attitudes about us not being able to expect better.

Chan was 1 quarter away from the best coaching performance of his career. If Tech holds on and wins it in the fourth like it appeared would happen about midway through the third, we would all be talking about how Chan was able to rally the troops after a 17 pt deficit and come back in a hostile environment...but ifs and and buts aren't going to change anything. Another saturday in Hooville another heartbreak for my Jackets...SHIITE

I wonder why there are CG fans. I cannot think of a good reason except he is a nice man.

Because we're winning games. We lost a game today that found us evenly matched with another team on the road. How that makes you question why people support Chan is what's baffling.

i dont think there is a coach in this world that can turn RB into a good QB

I don't know about you guys, but I won't have room for thanksgiving dinner after I gorged on such a feast of mediocrity. Maybe I'll have room for some third tier bowl game for desert.

This one came down to QB play...ours got outplayed. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/drink1.gif

Thomas I believe you are right but I believe our defence also was beat pretty bad in the first and fourth quarter.

If Ifs and buts were candy and nuts it would be Christmas every day. If, If, If, but Chan loses again.

Gailey needs to look in the mirror for two major issues:
Why do we start so poorly just about every game now and why do we play to our competition (we clearly do this-I think it's the NFL syndrome).

But otherwise Gailey didn't lose this game, our players (particularly QB) did. We dropped 6 passes? Reggie tripped when he could have run for a TD? Landy trips when he could have run for a TD/INT? We drive down to the 30 for the go ahead and Reggie runs a terrible read option (he blew this one) and we lose 5 yards? And then there's multiple holding calls whent the play goes away from the tackle? We played like @#$%!

Pretty much my sentiments. Unfortunately for Chan, he bet on the wrong horse and he's gonna end up paying for it with his job more than likely.

Exactly, but unfortunately there are no other capable horses to choose from in the stable. We have recuited some positions poorly, but it seems the worst recruiting job may have been of QBs...which is unfortunately the most important position on the field.

How is it possible to know this?

Cake eater..you're an idiot. There are a few real QB's in the stable...Maybe you should head on down on the field and say it to the face of TB or KM or JG??? These guys are real QB's who will stay home like a QB should and throw the ball and not cufuse the offense like Reggie does with his ridiculous "scrambling make it up as you go" game plan.

It's interesting that every post you make has something to do with Taylor Bennett.

What has TB, KM, or JG done to show they are capable. Bennett won the only game he played, but did complete under 40% of his passes against the 2nd worst defense next to Duke we've played all year. Plus, I personally was much more impresed with Reggie during pre-season practice. KM is worse than Bennett or he wouldn't be behind him on the Depth Chart and JG is running the Scout Team. Maybe they will all be able to do something one day, but as of now there is no horse in the stable.
