Maybe he feels like he doesn't get the media he deserves being at Tech and he needs to go to a big SEC school for it.

I think he just wants the ball a lot more than the Faulker offense is giving it to him, and jet sweeps don't count. It's a bad decision IMO - Haynes without the arm injury would've made for a different season and Philo will sling it a lot more when he takes the reigns.

Yeah I was just about to edit my post to speculate this. I think you're right. All the teams he's down to are more pass heavy. So maybe he wants more passing.

On that list, I wouldn’t blame him for going to Texas. Definitely puts him in a clearly better place at the moment than being at Tech. Miami is a lateral move at best. Ole Miss probably is an improvement as a receiver wanting to showcase his skills, but will be playing for a manbaby of a coach who is always looking out for himself first. Auburn just makes no sense, everything about Auburn is worse than at GT.

I want to know. If he isn't chasing money, what is it? He is the #1 WR on a top offense that's a playoff contender next year. What is there besides money? Please, enlighten me.

Could be multiple factors. Maybe a change of scenery, degree, conference, etc. Looking at his Final 5, 3/5 will likely be preseason Top 12 next year (Texas, Ole Miss, LSU). Miami will have a new QB. Auburn is a disaster.

What’s surprising is, no B1G school (tOSU, Oregon) mentioned. So my guess is, outside of $$$ he wants to play for a perceived MNC team next year, in the sec. Large full stadiums (B1G, sec) vs half empty stadiums in the ACC (unfortunately that’s just reality). Process of elimination to me is Texas.

Yea... Eric has big play ability that changed games, but whenever you really needed a 3rd down conversion he always either dropped it or landed out of bounds. Malik is way more dependable.

That said, we do need a new deep threat or we *will* miss him when the box gets stacked up, and fortunately a couple speed demons are in the 2025 class. Bailey Stockton has shown a real knack for getting open too. I think we'll be OK and may even end up with better value adds for the NIL.
Stockton will turn out to be a great player for us! He has a knack for getting open and seems to be sure handed. Edelman type player.

Malik had a number of drops this year.
Remember, it was Singleton who picked up the big gain before Birr's game-winner in Dublin.

We sat in front of Singleton’s family at last years Mississippi game. I don’t remember the specifics, but they said something about having ties to Mississippi and having always been Mississippi fans.

Eric Singleton
If you have a chance to make 7 figures playing football... go for it. Hard to turn that down.
its not about the money. He’s tired of being disrespected and told he needs to work on his route running, pass catching, decision making, and getting up field.

This is bullshit. Eric caught lots of passes in heavy traffic that other guys would have dropped

At least that the way I remember it.

Literally what every WR is told, including Jerry Rice in his prime.

So he wants to play against competition that is perceived as more difficult to showcase these skills? This makes no sense. It’s about getting a bag and nothing else. He’s not getting more touches and targets at any of the last 5 schools on his list than he did here. Only LSU and Ole Miss have a single receiver with more receptions, and those guys are sure fire 1st or 2nd round NFL picks. He’s THE guy here and will be a 2/3 anywhere else.

Also calling BS because he and his Dad both said they’re going nowhere after last season.

Would love to have Eric Singleton at GT next year. He is a great player.

Singleton has turned from a 2-3 star HS recruit to one of the top transfer portal prospects because of the way he has been used and developed at GT.

If he is not leaving for money then he is making a mistake.

Perceived and what the NFL Draft has deemed factual go together at this point though. The ACC does not matchup to the “Big 2” right now.
