Transfer Portal Tracker

At lease we’re opening with a patsy next year. That’ll give the team an opportunity to gel more.

Aren't we bringing in a bigger replacement on the edge than Height?

Folks need to realize, yes, we are losing these guys, but at no point were any of them playing like Michael Johnson or Greg Gathers....
The question wasn't about size of the player but the number of players.
To that end, Height is 6-3, 240. Hoffler is 6-4, 255 and Manley is 6-2, 245.
My point is about the number of players lost and the number replacing them. And we hope - but don't know - that the new guys are more like Johnson and Gathers than their predecessors. Hell, I'll take an Anree Saint Amour at this point or a Pat Gamble.

We lost or are losing our top four guys on the edge - Height, Harris, Robinson and Yondjouen. Not to mention Cruz, who was listed on the depth chart but didn't play a great deal, is also out the door. Like the man said, don't confuse numbers with depth. But that's a lot of numbers to lose.
And still, interior is a huge concern. We've lost or are losing four of our top six in that rotation, even if one of them (Lockett) played sparingly at best.
Losing our two starting tackles and our starting center is a big concern too but hopefully McKenny and Galloway can step up and be full time guys at tackle. Petty is going to have put on a bunch of weight before he can contribute. Don't we have four or five OL in the outgoing portal, with only one incoming?
There's some work to do.
Few but you have mentioned the CTr need.Franklin may play Pro and we have next to NO exp to replace him.How many snap dribbles or blitzing LBs up middle killing our QB , do you need to see before you scream.

Rumor mill says Ole Miss, USC and UGA are 3 with interest when he pulls a Carson Beck.

I’m sure there will be others ($$$$).
IMO, Ole Miss has shot its load. I'm guessing they get passed by the really big time schools.

I hear you but so what if gets $3mm in NIL?
If you are a good starting QB in the NFL, you are making $40-50 million per year.

Does staying in college set you back a year from getting $40-50 million? If so, it makes $3mm seem like a small number.

Would you prefer the sure thing $3 million now? Even if you have already made a couple million in NIL?

AUSTIN, Texas — Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers turned down an $8 million NIL offer to transfer to another school for his final year of eligibility because he was ready to move on and enter the 2025 NFL and also to preserve his college football experience as a Longhorn, sources close to Ewers told Horns247.

Ewers could've earned more in one season next year than the roughly $6 million in NIL revenue he's earned the past three seasons in Austin, sources told Horns247. Ewers also earned $1.4 million by signing with GT Sports Marketing when he enrolled at Ohio State in the fall of 2021.

Two NFL scouts told Horns247 they expect Ewers to be selected anywhere from late in the first round to early in the third round of April's draft.

First-round selections in the 2025 NFL Draft are projected to sign four-year deals totaling $42.2 million at the top of the first and $13.2 million at the bottom. Second-round picks are projected to sign four-year deals ranging from $10.7 million at the top of the round to $6.8 million at the end.

I think there's arguments for both choices. If true, $8m would be a number that would make it maybe make sense to stay imo. Even then though, I don't think you can fault him if he wants to move on.
